Yamaha Motor and note are holding a submission contest with the theme "#TheMomentMyEngineStarted"!
Many of you have likely felt that moment when you're working or engrossed in a hobby, and you suddenly get into the zone, feel motivated, and your spirits lift—the moment you feel like, "My engine has started!"
Also, some of you may have experienced a surge of fighting spirit when standing at a crossroads in life or when pushed into a corner, or perhaps you've had an experience where that moment changed your life or lifestyle.
We are looking for your stories about that "moment your engine started" or about "things that get your engine running."
With less than a month left in 2021, please feel free to post about "the moment your engine was most active this year" or "what you are currently doing to get your engine running for next year."
For your submission, you can use any format, including text, illustrations, manga, or videos.
When posting, please include the hashtag " #TheMomentMyEngineStarted".
Reference Works
For this contest, we asked Kaoru Ariga, Massi, and Bike Kawasaki Bike to create reference works. The articles will be published sequentially. Please take a look and use them as a reference for your own submissions.

We are looking for note posts on the theme "#TheMomentMyEngineStarted." Please feel free to write manga, essays, illustrations, novels, etc. Any format is acceptable.

・Please set your submission to "public" (free).
※ Participation is complete if the banner image is displayed at the bottom of the article.

Meet the Judges
・Kaoru Ariga
Soup writer. For 10 years starting in 2011, she updated her soup recipes daily for about 3,500 days. Through various media, she shares simple ways to eat and approaches to cooking that get straight to the deliciousness. Her book '10-Minute Morning Soup Bento' (Magazine House) won an award at the 7th Cooking Recipe Book Awards. Her other recipe books include 'Soup Lesson' (President Inc.) and 'Kaoru Ariga's Tonjiru Revolution' (Ie no Hikari Association). Her latest work is her first essay collection, 'How I Became Good at Cooking' (Daiwa Shobo).
・Massi
An Italian-Japanese interpreter and marketing consultant from Piedmont, Italy. Sworn translator for the Italian Consulate. Holds a Master's degree in Japanese Language from the University of Turin. Currently resides in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture.
・Bike Kawasaki Bike
Also known as BKB. Stand-up comedian and novelist.
Born December 17, 1979, in Hyogo Prefecture. After working as a hairdresser for three years, he entered NSC Osaka in 2003. His peers include Wagyu, Kamaitachi, and Shizuru. He began his career as Bike Kawasaki Bike in 2007. Finalist in the R-1 Grand Prix 2014. His 'super short story collection that you can read quickly and want to read again,' titled 'BKB's Short Short Story Collection: Pretending to be on the Phone' (Yoshimoto Books), which gained popularity on social media during the 2020 pandemic, was published as a book.
