Planning a renewal of the note home screen! Making it easier to discover creators and articles with recommendations based on your interests
Starting today, we are beginning an experiment to renew the note home screen into a place where it is easier to encounter articles that match your interests!
In this renewal, we will extract and display articles based on keywords that match your interests from among the articles you have read so far.By reading a variety of articles, it will become easier to find content that matches your interests, and the home screen will become more tailored to your preferences.

In the area enclosed by the red frame, articles from various categories such as "Following" will be lined up horizontally. We are also introducing a mechanism that automatically generates images for articles that do not have a header image.

First, we will have 5% of all creators try out the new home screen. Those selected will see a notification on their note screen, and if you click to participate, it will switch to the new home screen.
We plan to make updates based on feedback from those who use it, have others try it out, and then release it to all creators.
* The new home screen is scheduled to be changed only for the web browser version (PC/smartphone)
* App support is under consideration
→ We have started testing the new home screen on the app as well! (Added June 21)
* As we are currently making improvements, the page design may change in the future
A mechanism that automatically recommends articles based on your interests
What we are introducing this time is a mechanism that extracts and organizes articles based on keywords that seem to match your interests from among the articles you have read so far.
On the new home screen, we have arranged articles in order from the top: "Following," "Recommended for you," and articles related to "keywords" that match your interests. You can see more articles by scrolling horizontally (or clicking the [>] button) within the red frame in the image below.

On note, more than 26,000 pieces of content are published every day. Because of the large volume of content, it can be time-consuming for readers to find articles that match their interests. Also, on the previous home screen, "articles from creators you follow" and "recommended articles for you" were mixed together.
On the new home screen, by automatically recommending articles that match the reader's interests, we eliminate that effort and make it easier for readers to reach the articles they want to read.
If the number of articles you read increases as a result, the possibility of encountering creators you are interested in may also expand even further.
"Whenever I open the note home screen, there are always articles that I think look interesting! I look forward to opening note." We are aiming for a home screen renewal that makes everyone feel this way.
Regarding the future schedule
In this experiment, starting today, a portion of creators randomly selected from all creators will try out the new home screen (alpha version).

Those selected will see a notification like the one below at the top of their note screen, and if you click to participate, it will switch to the new home screen. Please share your feedback on your experience using the "Share your thoughts" button at the top of the screen.

After that, we plan to have another group of creators try out the new home screen (beta version), which will include updates based on the feedback we received from creators regarding the alpha version.
After conducting two stages of experiments and making improvements, we will release it to all creators.
At note, we will continue to make various improvements based on your feedback to support creators in their efforts to 'create and connect'.
We have prepared a survey form regarding improvements to the new home screen. We would appreciate your feedback! We may reach out for a direct interview with those who share their thoughts on using it. Thank you in advance if we do. (Updated August 24, 2022: Thank you for all your feedback! The survey form is now closed.)
We consider improvement items based on the opinions and requests of our creators. We will continue to work on creating an environment where it is easier to engage in creative activities, so please let us know your thoughts.
A list of improvements made so far is summarized in this article.
The latest information on improvements is also announced on our official Twitter.
