Announcing 8 new features for the new note editor!

To make your creative expression even richer, we have added 8 new features to the new note editor!

※ Important notes on usage
Please be aware that articles edited using the newly added features (bullet points, subheadings, right alignment, etc.) cannot be edited using the previous editor in web browsers.

Introduction to new features

Here are the 8 new features that have been added!

1. Subheading (h3)

2. Bullet points / Numbered lists

What exactly are these new features? How can you use them?
I will introduce them one by one!

1. Subheading (h3)

The previous heading is now a main heading (h2), and a new subheading (h3) has been added. It expands the range of your creativity in various situations, such as when changing topics or emphasizing text.

2. Bullet points / Numbered lists

Type "-" + a half-width space to create a bulleted list, or "1." + a half-width space to create a numbered list. You can also set them from the "Bullet list" option inside the + button on the left. This is useful when you want to organize your points or explain steps.

• You can set up to 5 levels of hierarchy.

  • To indent a bulleted list, use

    • Tab key

    • (on Windows) ctrl + ]

    • (on Mac) Command + ]

  • To outdent, use

    • Shift + Tab key

    • (on Windows) ctrl + [

    • (on Mac) Command + [

3. Right align

In addition to left and center alignment, you can now right-align text. After selecting the target text, you can set it to right-align from the screen menu.

4. Strikethrough

You can now use strikethrough on text. Select the text and set it from the menu that appears. It also supports Markdown shortcuts (~~target text~~). This is useful for keeping a history of changes when you edit your note later.

5. Source citation

When using quotes, you can now include the source in the bottom right. This is useful when quoting passages from novels, movie lines, or favorite sentences from articles written by other creators. You can also embed a URL in the source. By including the source URL, the credibility of the information increases, so please try using it.

6. Divider line

You can now insert divider lines into your articles. Set it from the "Divider line" option within the + button on the left. This also supports Markdown syntax (---).

You can use this when you want to separate the content of your article like this.

7. Image alt text (alt attribute) settings

You can specify the content of an image with text. This is used if the image fails to display for any reason, or when readers use a screen reader to read note.

8. Image description (caption)

You can now enter a description to supplement the content of an image. When you enter a description, it will be displayed as shown below.

note is home to articles across a wide variety of genres.

What kind of features are needed to make those posts even more engaging?
The new editor was developed with that perspective in mind.

However, whether these features truly make content shine depends on you, the creators. We can build the features, but we believe what matters most is how you choose to use them.
