Minecraft, cooking, short-shorts... A month of enjoying various creative activities! #CreatorFes 2022 Highlights Summary
For the month of October, we held a creative festival hosted by note called "note CREATOR FESTIVAL 2022"(commonly known as: Creator Fes)!
This year's theme was "Tried making it, tried doing it.".
People with similar interests tried making things together, and we listened to stories from people doing new things in various genres.
We hope that everyone who participated online or in person felt inspired to "try making something or try doing something" themselves.
In this article, we will deliver the best highlights from the various projects held over the month!
What is Creator Fes?
An event hosted by note to enjoy creativity. We held talk events by popular creators, participatory projects, and posting projects on note in both online and offline formats.
Talk sessions that stimulated creative motivation
We held 12 talk sessions this year! We will introduce them along with the impressions of those who participated online and in person.
The psychological hurdle of writing has dropped significantly! Pre-festival by Yuki Ishikawa
The "Lessons to enjoyably acquire the 'Writing Habit'" by Yuki Ishikawa, author of the talked-about book "Writing Habit," was held as a pre-festival event on September 30th. Many participants took notes on note during the event and immediately posted them as articles after it ended.

Tatsuya Goto and Kensu talk about "The Current State of the Creator Economy"
A session featuring economic journalist Tatsuya Goto and Kensu, Representative Director of Al. They spoke from the perspectives of two practitioners about tips and ways of thinking for earning income directly through subscriptions, social media, and more.

We asked Shunji Yamanaka and Marina Fujiwara, "Turning ideas into reality! How to use technology and design"
A talk session with Shunji Yamanaka, a design engineer and professor at the University of Tokyo, and Marina Fujiwara, who advocates for 'useless creations' and continues to turn ideas into reality. They talked in depth about how to come up with ideas and their approach to making things.

Manabu Miyasaka and Yoichi Ochiai discussed "How can we solve social issues with the power of digital?"
We invited Tokyo Vice Governor Manabu Miyasaka and Yoichi Ochiai, who is active in various fields as a media artist. They spoke about what they are doing from their respective positions to solve the issues currently facing Japanese society using the power of digital.

Creating stories on the spot, commenting on everyone's ideas... We asked Naoki Matayoshi, "How do you make that?"
Comedian Jun Murakami (Shizuru) served as the interviewer for the event "Ask a Creator! How do you make that?", which featured guest Naoki Matayoshi, winner of the 153rd Akutagawa Prize.
They talked in detail about how to think of themes for novels, how to structure stories, and what to do when facing the pain of creation. In the second half, there was also a segment where Matayoshi-san commented directly on free-form haiku submitted by viewers!

The "note Soccer Study Session" where a star-studded commentary team and participants predicted the match results
The FIFA World Cup, a festival held every four years, takes place this November. Regarding the world's top-tier tournament, the "UEFA Champions League," a star-studded commentary team consisting of Yasuo Kurashiki, Ichiro Ozawa, Hideki Kasuya, and Jun Nakayama predicted the match results together with the audience.

"Recommendations for Metaverse Migration You Can Start Tomorrow," overflowing with each platform's charm
Virtual Bishoujo Nem, President Mela, Yamabuki Iro, and Shuichi Tatsunami were invited to passionately discuss the appeal of the VR metaverse platforms they each enjoy, such as VRChat, Minecraft, Fortnite, and Roblox!

A barrage of easy recipes you can make right away! "Blissful Snack Recipes" where 7 dishes were made in 1 hour
We welcomed cooking experts SHIORI and Mami Imai to actually prepare snack recipes recommended for both those who drink and those who don't! They are all things you can copy immediately. Please try making them yourself while watching.

The hook is in the first 2 seconds! A popular TikToker teaches 4 rules for short videos
We asked popular short video creator with 6 million TikTok followers, Sekiminati, and dancer Erinacchi, who has devised many viral social media choreographies, to teach us the rules for successful short videos.
In addition to very clear and practical tips, we were also able to hear about the dreams the two of them want to achieve through their short videos.
I wanted to try expressing my "likes"! "Tips for writing that gets through" by Kaho Miyake
We welcomed book critic and author Kaho Miyake as an instructor to learn writing techniques for expressing what you "like".
She taught us easy-to-understand tips that can be put into practice immediately, so after watching, you will surely want to fully express the things you love to someone!

Analyzing a Rakugo performer's speech linguistically was amazing!
With Rakugo performer Kochiraku Ryutei as a guest, the two hosts of the popular podcast "Yuru Gengogaku Radio" interviewed him.
The two MCs analyzed the techniques and habits Kochiraku uses when speaking in his daily life from a linguistic perspective, such as "You use fillers effectively, don't you."
In the second half, there was also a special time where Kochiraku-san read works by creators selected from note's submission projects!



Over 50,000 submissions in projects enjoying creation on note!
We also held two types of projects where you could participate by posting on note.
1. note communities that co-managed magazines with the same theme
Using the feature that allows multiple people to co-manage a magazine, about 90 people in total—about 30 for each theme—continued posting on a common theme for one month!
The "Tried Making/Tried Doing" magazinecollected 192 posts! There were many, including cooking, English, and daily life hacks. Various "tried making/tried doing" posts were submitted every day. Please take a look.
The "Tried Writing a Short-Short" magazinecollected as many as 365 posts! Some people even posted every day. A wide range of short-shorts were born, from heartwarming stories to slightly mysterious tales.
The "Tried Taking Autumn Photos"magazinecollected 241 posts! Photos of autumn from various places, captured from each person's perspective—such as landscapes turning autumnal and food—were sent in one after another every day.
2. Submission challenge where you can get a special note badge
During October, the badges you can get on note and the "Congratulations on X days in a row!" images after posting were changed to special Creator Fes designs. Were you able to get the October-only badge?
It was a month where we supported everyone's creativity by suggesting recommended topics that changed daily.
The number of posts with hashtags related to Creator Fes reached a staggering 53,000 in just one month!

Experience-based events were also a big hit!
We also held many events to experience together with all the participants!
Four days of everyone continuing to build in Minecraft
We recruited 100 people in advance to build a city together in Minecraft. Starting with the Minecraft building workshop event by Hayashi-san, we spent 4 days working together to continue building our ideal city!
Hayashi-san also streamed the building process for long hours every day on his YouTube channel. When it was completed, the participants were overflowing with passion!

The "Parent-Child Pokemon Card Experience Session" was filled with children's smiles
Targeting children and parents who had never played the Pokemon Trading Card Game before, official judges and a teaching team taught them the rules and appeal of the game from scratch.
The venue was filled with the smiles of children!


Seven "note cafe" events were also held to enjoy socializing and writing notes!
We opened up the note event space as a "note cafe" as a place for everyone to write notes together, interact with other creators, and learn from each other. We held seven events to support creative activities.
Life with Coffee and Its Appeal
With Yuma Kawano from LIGHT UP COFFEE as our guest, we deepened our knowledge by learning how to make coffee. After the event, everyone at the venue enjoyed tasting plenty of coffee together.
The World of Craft Beer to Enjoy Now
With Riku Oba from "Passific Brewing" as our guest, we asked about everything from how beer is made to the differences in taste. Thanks to the delicious craft beer, the in-person participants became friends and have continued to interact since!
How to Enjoy Non-Alcoholic Drinks
With Daichi Sato and Mitsutaka Mitsuhashi, co-representatives of the non-alcoholic drink brand "SHINRA", as our guests, they talked about the appeal of non-alcoholic drinks.
Study Session for note Beginners
A study session for beginners to learn how to use note and tips for writing articles was held both online and in-person. The workshop on thinking about titles and article content was very lively and well-received.
A Session to Quietly Write notes
We held a session where we literally sat in silence and quietly wrote notes. It also served as an opportunity for interaction, with participants introducing themselves and sharing what they had written.

A Session to Write notes While Enjoying Sake Recommended by Local Governments
We held an event where we provided sake and tea recommended by seven local governments currently using note, and participants wrote notes while tasting them. Participants commented, "I'll choose this for my hometown tax donation," "I want to talk directly with the local government staff next time," and "There is no other event where you can taste such a variety of sake."

A Session to Write Book Reviews Together
We held a session to write book reviews using worksheets packed with the methods of book critic Kaho Miyake. In the first half, we worked on the worksheets individually, and in the second half, we shared the sheets with other participants and talked about our favorite books. It was a wonderful time where book lovers gathered and refined their book reviews together.
We made note green tea bags as a souvenir
At this year's Creator Fes, we gave out note merchandise as souvenirs to those who visited the note event venue. As a new item, we created green tea in tea bags shaped like the note logo! We hope you will drink it when you want to take a relaxing break or as a companion to your creative work.
