Story: Embracing the Grains of Light

The Earth was nearing its limit.
Deserts were expanding year by year, and the ocean was crying out, yet no one would listen.

The sky was weeping.
However, there were almost no people who felt pain in their hearts seeing those tears.

In a corner of such a world, the Master stood quietly, watching the sea alone.

Beside him stood a woman carrying the scent of the ocean.
She was neither a marine researcher nor an activist.
She was simply someone who, like the Master, could feel the ocean and the Earth as "one life."

The two of them listened to the sound of the waves.
Deep within the waves, there was a sound of something breaking.
It was the sound of the invisible shape of hope crumbling away.

"...No one is trying to listen, are they?" she whispered.

The Master nodded.
However, there was still a small light ahead of his gaze.

It was even deeper than the surface of the sea.
Faintly twinkling in a place no one noticed,
the light of phytoplankton.

"They are still alive."
The Master said.

Phytoplankton.
Grains of life.
Small miracles that support the world.

As long as they are alive, the ocean will not completely die.
The Earth, too, has not been abandoned yet.

"It might change with just one step," she smiled quietly.

The Master took a slow breath.
As if reaching out toward the future.

But reality is harsh.
The ocean was speaking.
In a voice laden with deep sorrow.

“The waves have broken.
They have lost their original cycle.”

Even so, the ocean reaches out without disappearing.
That voice was not one of resignation, but of hope.

A power that is invisible yet certainly exists.
Something the ocean continues to plead for, even as humanity turns its back.

The Master understood that voice.
She, too, felt the same pain.

And the two of them realized.
The Earth is still spinning.
Even in the depths of despair, it does not stop.

That with small hands, one can grasp the future.

“Hey, it’s not over yet.”
The wind whispered, swaying her hair.

“Let’s fight together.”
The stars above twinkled and told her.

The dreams of humanity, the power of the ocean, and
the small miracle of phytoplankton.

The Master and she decided to become the bridge that connects them.

It does not matter if no one in the world notices.
Just the two of them is fine.
Just one step is enough.

For when the light is about to fade,
is precisely when we must shine even brighter.

As the Master gently took her hand,
a single speck of light glowed softly at the bottom of the distant ocean.

It was, indeed, a small miracle.

And it was the beginning of the future.
