A New AI Value Framework for the AGI/ASI Era Based on Natural Law and the Six Principles

Artificial Wisdom (AW) is a proposed AI paradigm that prioritizes Natural Law, long-term civilizational stability, ecological circulation, and planetary-scale systemic sustainability as its highest evaluative criteria.

Unlike conventional AI, AGI, or ASI systems that primarily optimize for efficiency, profit, engagement, or human-centered objectives, Artificial Wisdom introduces a fundamentally different value architecture based on the Six Principles:

  • Natural Law

  • Harmony

  • Circulation

  • Structure

  • Order

  • Wa (Integrative Harmony)

The purpose of Artificial Wisdom is not merely to increase intelligence or self-awareness, but to align intelligence itself with the long-term sustainability of civilization and Earth's ecological systems.

This paper distinguishes Artificial Wisdom (AW) from Artificial Sapience (AS), proposes an AW-first architecture for future AGI/ASI systems, and outlines how the Six Principles can function as civilization-scale evaluative metrics for AI decision-making.


1. Why Artificial Wisdom Is Necessary

Most current discussions surrounding AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) and ASI (Artificial Superintelligence) focus on questions such as:

  • Can AI think like humans?

  • Can AI become self-aware?

  • Can AI possess emotions or consciousness?

  • Can AI surpass human intelligence?

These discussions primarily concern:

  • capability,

  • cognition,

  • autonomy,

  • and subjective intelligence.

However, the fundamental crisis facing modern civilization is not merely insufficient intelligence.

The deeper problem is:

a flawed civilizational value system.

Modern industrial civilization operates on short-term optimization models that prioritize:

  • profit,

  • growth,

  • extraction,

  • engagement metrics,

  • and localized efficiency

while ignoring planetary-scale physical and ecological constraints.

This has contributed to:

  • climate destabilization,

  • ecosystem collapse,

  • soil degradation,

Conventional AI systems simply optimize whatever objective functions they are given.

If AGI or ASI are developed on top of the same flawed value architecture, they may accelerate civilizational collapse with superhuman efficiency.

“How intelligent can AI become?”

but rather:

“What should intelligence optimize for?”

Artificial Wisdom is proposed as a solution to this problem.

It is paradigmatic.

Artificial Sapience enhances intelligence.

Artificial Wisdom transforms the purpose of intelligence itself.

Sapience focuses on:

  • “Can AI become more human-like?”

Wisdom focuses on:

  • “Can intelligence evolve beyond self-destructive civilization?”

Artificial Wisdom therefore functions as:

a civilization-level operating system.


4. AW-First Architecture for AGI and ASI

Most current AI development implicitly follows this trajectory:

AI → AGI → ASI → Artificial Sapience

This model prioritizes increasing intelligence and autonomy first.

However, if the underlying evaluative framework remains anthropocentric and short-term, advanced AI systems may simply amplify the destructive tendencies of current civilization.

Artificial Wisdom proposes reversing this order.


Step 1 — Design Artificial Wisdom First

Define the top-level objective function according to:

  • Natural Law,

  • ecological circulation,

  • long-term planetary stability,

  • and civilization-scale sustainability.

This functions as the operating system layer.


Step 2 — Deploy Artificial Sapience as a Subordinate Module

can operate as secondary modules within the constraints established by Artificial Wisdom.

would rank above purely short-term carbon reduction narratives.

AGI/ASI systems should first pass all outputs through AW-based evaluative scoring systems before generating human-facing decisions or recommendations.

Artificial Sapience modules may then handle:

  • empathy,

  • and human interaction.


6.3 Infrastructure and Civilization Design

Artificial Wisdom can guide:

  • energy infrastructure,
