Gakuen Idolmaster Memo Petit: Sun-Faded Edition
Hello, this is Imo-Ryokucha. It's been a while.
I usually try to keep a proper distance from my readers when writing articles, but I have to ask you this.
Have you seen the Sun-Faded MV!?!?!?!
Seriously.
Please watch it. It's just too good.
When it comes to Shinozawa-san's songs, they generally have a slow, healing vibe: 'Koukei' makes you feel like you're in a gentle slumber, 'Contrast' feels like floating on water, 'Mekurume' feels like dropping and breaking a beaker in a lab, and 'Contemporary Dance' lets you daydream on a lazy weekend afternoon. Even if 'Mekurume' is a bit of an outlier. I didn't expect Shinozawa-san's new song to start with such an intense melody, and it was a critical hit for me. The lyrics by Hakushi Hasegawa, which seem to exist between reality and fiction, create a mysterious marriage with Shinozawa-san's high, clear singing voice, making it a song you want to listen to over and over. It's addictive. The MV is a luxurious production where you can enjoy Shinozawa-san moving in animation, with cute illustrations added here and there. Gakuen Idolmaster has really grown since Semi-Blue, hasn't it? The merits of the MV have been discussed by fellow producers on Twitter (now X), and it's full of clever details like the costumes from Koukei, Contrast, and Campus mode!! being inserted frame by frame, but this is my top pick.
This is my personal favorite.

It's inserted right around the end of the first chorus, and I find it very 'Hao' (good) because it captures that sense of awkwardness that is so characteristic of Shinozawa-san. Despite the high level of satisfaction, the refreshing tone of the song doesn't leave you feeling overwhelmed, and I feel like I'm seeing a new side of Shinozawa-san. The only regret is that I haven't pulled Sun-Faded yet... If it weren't for the chaos in my real life... I was planning to hit the pity cap... I'll wait patiently for the Select Ticket. Because I'm an adult. I would love to talk about reaching Affection Level 27, but I'll save that for next time for the sake of the producers who haven't reached it yet. This was Imo-Ryokucha.
Next time, I'll see you for
Gakuen Idolmaster Memo: Birthday Song Edition.
