Coming-of-Age Ceremony location photography: Shooting in the town where you grew up and in your own home
The photos I am introducing this time were taken in my hometown, Kasai City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Last year, I invited Mr. Hayashi from Hayashi Photo Works, my mentor, to come over and take photos while also providing me with personal training.
We went around Kasai City, visiting your family home, temples, stations, shrines, and more to take photos!
First, I would like to introduce the photos taken at your family home.
Unfortunately, it was a rainy day...
We borrowed a room in your family home to get ready and started the shoot indoors.
We proceeded from the Japanese-style room with a tokonoma alcove to the veranda...
It was still raining, but we used a traditional Japanese umbrella and headed to the entrance.
We also took photos with the house you grew up in.
The rain that had been drizzling since the morning was forecast to stop soon.
After finishing the shoot at your family home, we moved to a temple.

▪️Why Hyogo and why Banshu, even though you are based in Kyoto?
The answer is simple.
Because Banshu is the place where I was born and raised.
The goodness and beauty of the environment and scenery where I was born and raised were things I felt anew after leaving my hometown and returning.
Local people say, "It's just the countryside, there's nothing here."
That is because it is always there and has become something taken for granted; the roads you walk every day and the familiar scenery are all charming.
Because even the current "normal" will change someday, I want you to take photos together and leave them behind.
The town where you were born, the house where you grew up, the roads you walked every day...
Perhaps you will feel their value again after time has passed or you have moved away.
With that thought in mind, I started this project to provide Coming-of-Age Ceremony location photography in your own home and your own town!!
