The Focus of Consciousness Determines Your Current Reality (CH-No.016)
“Reality isn't moving the way I want it to.”
“For some reason, I keep repeating the same patterns.”
—At times like these, we tend to look for the cause in external circumstances.
However, the truth is that what creates your reality is your “focus of consciousness.”
Consciousness is like light. Depending on where you direct it, what you see, what you feel, and the events that occur will change.

Consciousness is the lens of reality
For example, when the same event occurs, some people perceive it as an “opportunity,” while others feel it is “bad luck.”
There are people who were poor in childhood who blame themselves as adults, believing that their childhood experiences are the reason they remain poor.
On the other hand, there are those who positively perceive their experience of poverty as the driving force that helped them become the prosperous person they are today.
What creates that difference is the focus of consciousness.
Where your consciousness directs its attention is what we call the focus of consciousness.
If your consciousness is directed toward “lack,” you will feel that you don't have enough no matter how fulfilled you are; conversely, if it is directed toward “gratitude,” you can find joy even in trivial things.
Reality is not objective; it is like a screen that consciousness projects onto.
What you are focusing on is what shapes your current reality.
Focus is chosen unconsciously
Unless you choose it intentionally, your focus of consciousness is automatically determined by past memories and habits.
For example, if you have a past experience of being hurt, you end up focusing on the fear that “I might get hurt again”.
As a result, similar events repeat in your reality, and you become convinced that “it always turns out this way.”
By changing our perspective on the reality that has occurred, we become able to view reality from a different angle.
That is precisely why changing our own consciousness is the first step toward changing our reality.
Returning consciousness to “here and now”
The simplest way to change the focus of your consciousness is to return to the "here and now." Direct your consciousness not to the past or the future, but to this very moment.
By carefully directing your consciousness to your current breathing, your current sensations, and your current feelings, you can break free from the loop of thoughts and create a new relationship with reality.
When we return our consciousness to the "here and now," we begin to focus on what is right in front of us.
By feeling that the flower in front of you is beautiful, concentrating on your body as it breathes, or feeling the pleasantness of the wind or water, you will be able to cherish the sensations of this very moment.
Past failures, trauma, future fears, and anxieties are things we feel precisely because our consciousness is not directed toward the "here and now."
Try to feel how irreplaceable this day is, even if nothing special happens.
Direct your consciousness toward the joy and gratitude that exist in this moment. By doing so, a succession of fulfilling moments will shape your future.
The choice of consciousness creates the future
The focus of consciousness is also a compass that determines the direction of the future. "What you direct your consciousness toward" is the same as "what kind of future you choose."
For example, if you direct your consciousness toward "possibility," you will begin to see various opportunities.
If you direct your consciousness toward "failure," you will become afraid and unable to move forward, but if you direct your consciousness toward "success," you will be able to move forward without fear.
If you direct your consciousness toward "love and harmony," your connection with this world will deepen and you will be able to trust it more, but if you direct your consciousness toward "indifference and chaos," you will likely feel disconnected from this world.
That is why how you use your consciousness is the very "quality of your life."
If you want to change your reality, first change the focus of your consciousness. That is the most fundamental and most powerful way to create change.
