[Tsurukame Cup] Unofficial Sazanami Award (Haiku Only)🏆✨
The Tsurukame Cup was a huge success!
Just like the previous Space Cup, I intended to pick out the haiku that left an impression on me and publish an appreciation article after the festival.
However, my own haikuwon two private awards.
"A damselfly slips through my child's fingers, after the rain"
won the Kore-Haha Kirari Award.

Yay! ヽ(´▽`)/
"The carefree home of a dugong, the summer sea"
won the HAYASHIP Award.
Thank you, Kore-Haha-san and Hayaship♡-san.
Thank you so much! Yay!
Still, an unofficial award
is it really this happy to receive one??
In that case, I thought, let's pass this joy along,
so instead of an appreciation post, I'll give out an "unofficial award" too!
I'll be giving one out as well!
Though, I do feel a slight pressure wondering if I'll be able to do it every time...
there is a faint sense of pressure.
So, I would love to choose many, but
the 3 haiku that stole my heart
are the only ones I have narrowed it down to.🙇♀️
Furthermore, this is only for the haiku category that I participated in.
I am sorry...💦
I have chosen all of them from the haiku that did not make it through the preliminaries
as well.
Oh, and I haven't mastered skills like Canva yet, so I couldn't create any fancy award certificates or anything.💦
As a substitute, if you will,
I have included some of my own photos
of "Okinawa scenery" at the end of each
appreciation note.
I hesitated, thinking that
limiting the image of the haiku with photos might not be great... but
this is all I could think of.💦
They are clumsy photos, so
I can't really say "please take them home," but🙇♀️
(since I don't even know if they match the poet's image)
Something like this, huh, hmm ( ´_ゝ`)
I don't mind at all if you take a lukewarm stance like that, so I would be happy if you could enjoy it 😅
Now, I will announce it!
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da... (drum roll sound)
Bam! 🥁
Greta knits her brows while eating ice cream
KaoRu IshiDa
The author's other haiku are also wonderful, but
this haiku is the best! For some reason 🤭
Because the image of Greta
bringing ice cream to her mouth
with a grumpy look pops into my head in a second!
Will she keep eating it while "knitting her brows"?
Or will she suddenly
let her face melt into a "Mmmmmm❤️" expression?
Imagining the change in her expression is fun.
Also, the expression that comes to mind from Greta "knitting her brows" makes me think it looks "hot," and the contrast with the coldness of the ice cream
made me feel like it's really summer😄
By the way, when it comes to ice cream in Okinawa, it's
born in America and raised in Okinawa,
"Blue Seal."

since I couldn't find a photo that looked quite right,
I went with a parfait instead🙇♀️
I wonder if Greta would eat this.
In my deep pool, a single thread of blue, a damselfly.
Hangeshio-san
It feels like the beginning of a story,
I was struck by your unique worldview!!
In the dim pool, the 'blue' of the damselfly
stretches out thinly.
I can even feel the light shining into the pool.
There is an indescribable sense of coolness drifting through the entire poem.
The source of this is the 'damselfly'.
The power that the seasonal word holds
is brought out so effectively—it's amazing!

Also, it reminded me a little of
the spectacular snorkeling spot
the "Blue Cave"
at Cape Maeda (Onna Village) in Okinawa. (Photo above)

also relates to an aquarium? 🐟
A four-stringed lyre ringing in the ventricle of Polaris
Foliage Poet
I don't really understand it, but it's cool!
I shouldn't say that, but
honestly, all I can say is "cool."
Polaris is the North Star.
A ventricle is
a chamber in the heart that pumps blood into the arteries and veins.
A four-stringed lyre is
Four strings, a neck one meter long,
a koto that resembles a shamisen
Hmm? When I look up images,
guitars and ukuleles also come up...
Oh, I see!
Looking up the words, I can also feela sense of refinement from the haiku!
It resonates!
The sound of strings echoing in the heart.
Whether the sound of these strings is a guitar, a ukulele,
or perhaps a koto, the atmosphere of the haiku
seems to change quite a bit.
And then, the North Star shining in the sky.
This "North Star" is surely
shining brightly
within the poet's heart as well.
Or perhaps Polaris is a single drop of a tear,
shed upon hearing the sound of the strings.
The quiet emotion that sprouted in the poet,
grabbed my heart tightly,
and though I don't quite know why,
I thought,
It's so cool!!
The contrast between the red of the pulsing blood
and the white light of the North Star.
Not only that, I also feel the contrast between the 'warmth' of living blood
and the 'coldness' of the brilliantly shining star.
From that coldness of the star,
I received a sense of summer coolness!
By the way, since the North Star can be seen all year round,
it is apparently not a seasonal word.
Even though it's a haiku without a seasonal word, it certainly
feels like 'summer'...
I am truly impressed!!

I'm sorry, please forgive me with this moon instead 🙇♀️
Those were the three haiku.
Congratulations ^ ^
Everyone's "Personal Awards"
The haiku chosen were completely different depending on the judge,
which was interesting!
The haiku that made it to the preliminaries and finals,
I analyzed on my own, were perhaps those closely related to daily life.
Also, haiku that sound even better when read aloud.
And, haiku that sound even better when read aloud.
Grand Prize Haiku
Searching for conversation in a straw, iced tea
Congratulations, Kaze-san!🎉
I felt that this haiku also
uses the familiar subject of "iced tea," which
one might encounter at a cafe or family restaurant,
to exquisite effect.
Stirring the iced tea with a straw,
wondering what to talk about...
Is the person you're talking to a new lover, or perhaps someone you're not quite dating yet?
Or maybe a friend you haven't seen in a while?
Family... perhaps a parent?
It's a fun haiku that lets me imagine
various people, places, and situations, and I also felt a
hint of kindness.
Also,
Biting into a cucumber severely bent during adolescence
(Tuda-san)
This haiku also came to mind suddenly
when I took a cucumber out in the kitchen.
A severely bent cucumber.
That's right, during adolescence, you tend to
get twisted in one way or another.
Your heart must have been bent, too, surely.
I thought, nodding to myself
while slicing the cucumber. What a suspicious person I am.
The goal I set for spring: 'compose haiku that capture the season'
I think I managed to clear that challenge this time.
My challenge from summer to autumn is to add to that
'compose haiku that truly capture daily life'
Also, haiku that are fun to say out loud (in a whisper)
I'll try my best, just a little,
and have fun with it.
To the organizers, thank you for such a fun competition!
Thank you very much!

Today is the final day!
It feels a bit bittersweet, yet exciting at the same time...
