Small happiness is actually big
❝If you had to list three small moments of happiness that happened recently?❞
The weekly familiar "Happy Writing Marathon"
This week's topic is the one above.
For a moment, I wondered if I had any, but I found plenty.
When I use my smartphone to contact someone, I connect with them instantly.
Finding a lovely flower among the weeds growing on their own.
Finding a star in the dim, brightening sky at dawn.
That's already three.
Being able to stretch out and sleep in a warm futon.
A friend coming to visit.
Getting something I wanted.
Finding time to read a book.
The bamboo shoots were cooked deliciously.
Getting a perfect score on a university assignment quiz.
Cleaning the room with a broom made me feel refreshed.
Putting citrus peels in a net to use as a bath additive was blissful.
Being able to breathe deeply and slowly.
Being able to brew and enjoy delicious coffee.
There seem to be many more (^▽^)/
And you know, when I think about it carefully, I wondered if thesesmallhappinesses are really that small.
I felt that the reason I could feel so fulfilled was because I noticed them.
If you don't notice them, you won't feel happiness, and conversely, if you keep noticing bad things, you will surely be unhappy.
When I thought about that, I realized the world might be full of happiness to begin with, and you can pick up fragments of happiness just by changing your own mindset.
When I look at wider regions or the world, there are many parts where I feel exposed to anxiety and danger.
Even in the midst of that, if you focus on small happiness, you will be happy about the magnitude of that miracle, won't you?
Ken Honda, that was a wonderful topic 💗
