The First CD I Ever Bought: Anarchy

A little while ago, #TheFirstCDIEverBought was trending as a hashtag.

My #TheFirstCDIEverBought was the third album by
Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku (Ebichu) titled

"Anarchy"

(pronounced "Anarchy")

Released in 2016, I think this album captures the wide range of musical styles that have become synonymous with Ebichu.

The reason I bought it was that two years ago, a friend introduced me to Momoiro Clover Z (Momoclo), who are seniors at the same agency.

I got hooked on their earnest, full-throttle performances and the fun of their songs. While watching Momoclo on YouTube, Ebichu videos started appearing in my recommendations, which led me to watch their music videos and past footage to see what kind of group they were.

There, I was drawn to Ebichu's history, their diverse musical range, their high vocal ability, and the individual charm and cuteness of the members, and before I knew it, I had become a fan.
(Momoclo fans are called "Mononofu," and Ebichu fans are called "Family.")

After becoming a member of the Family, I stopped by a used CD shop and thought,
"I wonder what kind of Ebichu CDs they have?"
That's where I found "Anarchy".
I decided to buy it on the spot.

I think this album is packed with music from people with different musical styles, such as Kaiki Ogata from the rock band HERE who co-starred with Ebichu on a program, singer-songwriters Ayumi Tamura and Kayoko Yoshizawa, ABEDON from UNICORN, and Kenichi Maeyamada, who has a wide range of roles including music producer, lyricist, composer, singer, and talent.

I always play the 4th track, Popcorn Tone in the car on my way to school.
As Ayaka Yasumoto-chan also said on the program, it's a bright and catchy song, so I think it's perfect for mornings when you want to lift your mood.
