The presence of underground idols is surprisingly significant
Although I'm still a newbie who has only been an underground idol fan for about two years, I feel that the presence of underground idols is surprisingly significant.
I have summarized each element in my own way.
First element: Becoming a pillar of emotional support
Watching underground idols perform with all their might at live shows encourages me to do my best as well. Also, at special events, I can feel healed by talking to the idols or enjoy a pseudo-romantic atmosphere, which makes me feel happy.
Second element: There is a community of fans
At live venues, it's surprisingly interesting to talk to fans who happen to be nearby. Topics like events at other venues or talking about our favorite idols never seem to run out.
Sometimes I feel it's more fun to talk with other fans at idol venues than to spend time alone at home just zoning out (lol).
Third element: Holidays and fun increase
While underground idols have few self-organized regular performances, perhaps only about once a month, they appear in many joint events, so live shows themselves are held frequently.
It leads to motivation for my daily life and work because I can think, 'I'll work hard until the next live show' or 'I'll get through this week to enjoy the live show.' I feel that having regular fun like live shows has allowed me to spend every day more positively.
Fourth element: A catalyst for new challenges
Since I started supporting underground idols, I've had more opportunities to try new things.
For me, the biggest event was trying a 'cover song' (utaite) project.
Driven by the desire to have more people know the songs of the idols I support, I experienced recording for the first time in my life.
I don't think I would have taken on such a challenge if I hadn't been supporting underground idols. I feel that providing encounters with people and new experiences is also one of the charms of underground idols.
