The theme of Week 12 of 'Tiger in Wings' was about the 'mistakes' that people make. Everyone makes mistakes at some point. The question is, what do you do afterward? And do people forgive mistakes? Or do they not?
This week depicts various stances regarding such 'mistakes' through each of the characters.
■ The Incident at the Inotsume Household

・Tomoko... Decides to take in Michio, a war orphan, and is looked at coldly by her family.
・Michio... Pressures Hanae, asking, 'Can't I take Naomichi's place?'
・Haru... Looks at Michio with cold eyes.
After Michio leaves, Haru falls into a critical condition. Haru whispers, 'I have no regrets in life.' However, her only lingering concern is...
'Michio-kun!' Hanae realizes.
Tomoko goes to look for Michio. Then, with tears in her eyes, she desperately tries to persuade him to come and see Haru, who is in critical condition.
'Everyone makes mistakes. Adults, too. You as well.
But decent adults don't let go of a child's hand after one or two mistakes. They can't let go. Once they get involved, they worry forever. That's just how it is.'
'I've caused you worry for so, so long. That's why I want to grant her final wish.'
Michio is moved by Tomoko's words and goes to see Haru. In this episode, Haru quietly passes away.
■ The Psychology Behind Being Unable to Forgive
There is another relationship in this week that represents 'forgiving/not forgiving': Tomoko and Yone.
Although Tomoko and Yone reunited, Yone remained closed off to Tomoko. She had not forgiven Tomoko for leaving the legal profession.
'The words of someone who might disappear at any moment don't resonate.'
Yone was afraid. Afraid that Tomoko would disappear from her life again. Afraid of having expectations of someone only to feel betrayed.
It will be a little while longer before Tomoko and Yone reconcile.

By the way, the 'mistakes' depicted this week, including those that come later, are all 'forgiven' mistakes.
However, if the author were to add one final thing, it is that 'forgiving/not forgiving' a 'mistake' is left to the individual's choice.
There are 'mistakes' in this world that will never be forgiven. And the right to 'not forgive' them also exists.
