No. 589 The story introduced this time
Here, we feature tear-jerking stories that have become topics on the internet and in the news, along with videos uploaded to YouTube and other platforms, as "stories so good they bring tears to your eyes."
The story introduced this time is a post detailing the experiences of a man who, six years after losing his wife, decided to raise his daughter together with his father-in-law.
Regarding the posting date, I confirmed the post from February 28, 2016, from
summary sites, summary sites, and past logs, but I apologize if it is incorrect.
There was a YouTube video based on this story, so I will introduce it as well.

I will post it including the responses.

It's been 6 years since my wife passed away.
Two weeks after giving birth to our daughter, she had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage...
It was an easy birth and she was fine afterward, so my mind went blank.
But for the sake of the daughter she left behind,
I couldn't afford to be self-destructive,
I just worked desperately to raise her.
Sometimes I would remember my wife and tears would come to my eyes,
but my daughter is finally starting elementary school.
She still needs a lot of help and I'm busy,
she's starting to look like my wife and is truly cute, but
I was so absorbed in raising my daughter,
that I haven't really faced the sadness and pain of losing my wife yet.
I guess I'm intentionally trying not to face it...
I'm running away, aren't I?

Why don't you think about remarrying soon?
Children, especially girls, need a mother.

Well... honestly, I can't even imagine it...
Even if someone appeared who my daughter really took to and who became a mother to her,
it would be unfair to the woman to marry her just to make her a mother.
My father-in-law is coming over half the week starting in May to live with us,
and he's actually a pretty good mother? Or rather, his housework is truly perfect,
and he's good at playing with her, so even though she was supposed to like Daddy's gyoza the best!
It's a bit sad that Grandpa's hamburger is already her favorite now lol.
I was worried if an old man and a middle-aged guy could take care of my daughter,
but I've started to see hope that we can somehow manage.

It's okay.
That's fine.

Thank you, I wonder if that's okay for now...
I decided to live with my father-in-law starting in May.
I had been taking care of my mother-in-law, who had become somewhat senile
due to the shock of my wife passing away,
but my mother-in-law also passed away last year,
and after discussing various things, we decided to live together
and take care of my daughter together.
Until now, because of my daughter, I had been transferred to a department with little work
where I could leave on time,
and my father-in-law seemed to have been worried all along
that I had thrown away my career for my daughter's sake.
My father-in-law has already reached retirement age,
and since he is a person who can do anything around the house,
he said he could take care of my daughter too,
so he told me to work more.
Of course, my daughter is more important to me than any career,
and even though I told him there was nothing to worry about,
he said that a father must show his child that he works hard,
that it's obviously not good to be obsessed only with work,
but it's also not good to be obsessed only with children...
It's an old-fashioned way of thinking typical of people from the past,
but come to think of it, my wife also said she liked me when I was working,
and I remembered various things, thinking we really are father and daughter.
I still haven't fully faced the loss of my wife yet,
but if I stay like this, I might become too dependent on my daughter,
so I decided to have myself transferred back to my previous department as a step forward.
Sorry for the long post.

It might not get through even if someone like me who doesn't know your face or name says it,
but I somehow respect you. I'm rooting for you.

Thank you, although I haven't done anything worthy of respect lol.

Our circumstances are similar.
In my case, I was a bit away from the front lines when my wife got sick and passed away, making me a single father.
For the first time in 7 years, I'm returning to the front lines of work.
I've completely lost the sense of tension from work, I don't have the feeling of working on the front lines, and I'm worried about my child.

7 years, huh... we're almost the same.
I'm also returning to my original department in April, but I've completely forgotten the tension,
and I think I'll end up thinking about my child if it looks like I'll be late.
I haven't forgotten my sense of responsibility as long as I'm working, but
the feeling of "I'm going to work hard and excel" still hasn't come to me yet.

In our case, when our child graduated from elementary school,
my wife's illness was discovered (she had uterine fibroids), and other than her period, she was normally healthy, so at her request, we postponed surgery,
but in the winter 8 years ago, suddenly
she asked me to accompany her, so I drove to our home and then went to the hospital together.
Immediate hospitalization, her hemoglobin levels had dropped abnormally.
I couldn't have imagined at that time that she would pass away that night.
She always prioritized others and was always worried about our son and my work.
Our situation also overlaps with >>424, and she often said she liked me when I was working, but when I think about the child, I can really empathize with the conflict of feeling that it's no good to just be obsessed with work.

It really was, it was sudden for me too,
there's no way I could have imagined it.
Things like "I should have done this for my wife more"...
I've finally been able to think about that recently,
but at the time, I didn't have the capacity to even have such regrets or repentance.
If only I had the capacity to think about my child while also being able to immerse myself in work...
Video
I would like to introduce a video that was created based on this story.
*It seems there are other videos besides the one introduced here.
