I harassed a German girl who came as an exchange student by talking to her only in Japanese, and ended up marrying her
No. 579 The story introduced this time
Here, I compile stories that have become topics on the internet and in the news, along with videos uploaded on YouTube and other platforms, as "heartwarming stories that bring tears to your eyes."
The story I am introducing this time is a post by a man who wrote about how he met his wife, who came from Germany as an exchange student.
Regarding the time of the post, I confirmed the post from January 2, 2018, from what was published on a
summary site, but I apologize if that is incorrect.
There was a video based on this story, so I will introduce it as well.

I did something that might look like harassment to my wife, who came as an exchange student a long time ago, by talking to her only in Japanese.
My wife, who looked troubled at first, ended up clinging to me while crying when she left, saying,
“I want to stay in touch~”
She even came here to university, lived nearby, and then just ended up getting a job here and never went back lol

My wife is a German who came here for about three months on an exchange program when she was in high school.
When the wave of people interested in her novelty had passed, I talked to her normally in Japanese.
It seemed like she had studied some Japanese, but naturally, she couldn't keep up and looked confused, so I said,
“Even if you don't understand the words themselves, things can be conveyed through the situation, gestures, facial expressions, and nuances, so I will speak in Japanese and you speak in German.
For things that absolutely must be conveyed, let's try to communicate in English with a dictionary in hand.”
When I told her that in broken English, she nodded, and from then on, we became a strange pair who communicated in Japanese and German.
At first, we were both confused and would laugh about it, but within a week, we really could understand each other to some extent.
Even if we didn't understand the meaning of the words, we could convey what we wanted to say, and since my wife had been studying Japanese, she could grasp what I wanted to say, so we could communicate normally.
Before I knew it, teachers and those around us started relying on me, and my wife started using me to convey things to those around her, so I ended up in a position like her handler.
We spent time together happily, hanging out with everyone and just the two of us outside of school, so when she left, she clung to me while crying.
While I hugged my crying wife back and patted her head, I thought, “She’s got a great chest!!” which is still a secret to this day lol
After that, while we were exchanging emails on our PCs, I was asked where I was going to continue my education, and when I answered, she said, “I’m going there too!” and she really came.
By that time, my wife was already fluent in Japanese, and she even acted as an interpreter for her parents who came to Japan with her to help us decide where to live.
While we were touring sightseeing spots together, I hit it off with my wife's father over delicious sweets, and my wife, her mother, and her younger brother were a bit dumbfounded.
My wife's father asked me, “I think Japan is a safe country, so it should be fine, but since it's a life in an unfamiliar country, please take good care of her,” and I agreed.
But my wife's face was a little red and she was complaining, so I think he was actually saying something a bit different, but she still won't tell me, so I'm thinking of asking him directly next time.

Around the time our university life together was ending,
I asked, “By the way, what are you going to do after graduation?”
She said, “I’m going to get a job here.”
When I asked, “Oh, where are you going?”
She said, with her face turning bright red, “I’m going to get a permanent job here.”
I was planning to go to graduate school, so when I asked about when and at what timing we should get married,
She said, “I intend to work and support you for a while, so let's get married as soon as possible.
I like that you are troubled together with me when I am troubled, so I have decided to be troubled together with you too.”
So we decided to get married and live together right after she graduated.
In the end, my parents continued to pay for my tuition and living expenses until I got a job, and my wife's parents also helped us because it was the time when we had the least money, so we never had any financial trouble.
Now that I have a job and we have a child, I told her I wanted to show the baby to her parents, and her father said,
“It's not safe here anymore, and a long trip with a baby is hard, so we will come there. Look up some shops with delicious sweets.”
When I replied,
“That is already perfect. We can go around to so many places that you won't be able to eat it all,”
My wife and her mother got angry at me, but I do it every time we meet, so I'm sure we will definitely go on a sweets tour, or rather, I'm looking forward to it.
My wife's father's famous quote, “When I die, put me in a coffin made of sweets and build me a parfait-shaped grave,” is something I definitely want to fulfill for him lol
