It's a little different from the bento a mother makes, but...

There was a time when my daughter, who is now in her first year of junior high school, used to make bento lunches for her younger sister in kindergarten.

At the time, she was in the third grade of elementary school.
The younger daughter was in the middle class of kindergarten.

It wasn't that I forced her; she did it voluntarily.
Every morning, she would wake up at 6 o'clock and bustle around in the kitchen making them.

Since it was cooking by an ordinary elementary school student, the contents were naturally modest, but her younger sister was very happy every day and never left anything behind.

Because her younger sister was so happy with the bento her big sister made, she ended up continuing to make them for two years until she graduated from kindergarten.

On the last day of the bento, the empty bento box that came home contained a letter that said,

"Big sister, thank you for making me a bento every day until now.
Everyone was always jealous. It was delicious. I love you."

I found that letter carefully tucked into her student handbook now.

Along with the kindergarten graduation certificate, the kindergarten principal also gave the big sister a certificate that said,

"Award for working hard on making bento for two years."
The rolled omelet she always included is now perfectly neat and delicious.

Even though she is my own daughter, it was an event that made me truly respect her.

I also thought that I would like to have a big sister like that.
