They say that by just skewering ingredients vertically, it looks great, is well-balanced, and is easy to eat.
The host laughed, saying that every time you skewer something, it feels like you are stacking up records of your ancestors.

People at the company cafeteria immediately started copying it.
Fried chicken on top, a rolled omelet underneath, and a block of rice at the bottom, all pierced through with a skewer.
Everyone takes a picture with their smartphone, posts it on social media, and then immediately breaks it apart to eat.
'It's quick and fun,' 'I feel the culture,' 'This is the totem of the modern age.'
Those kinds of words were flying around.

I had forgotten my lunch, so I made one too.
My totem pole was made from the leftovers of everyone else's lunches.
My boss came over and laughed.
'You put me at the very bottom, did you?'
The following week, my desk had been moved to the warehouse at the very bottom.

Apparently, with real totem poles, the top isn't necessarily the most important. Also, they don't have religious meanings, but are records of history.
