Left-Right Studies, Weekly Short-Short Note
Ancient stone monuments always had mysterious words carved into them.
Royalty from the right foot, the commoners from the left foot.
A thousand years ago, a great kingdom that boasted prosperity suddenly perished, and it has been said that the reason lies in these words. However, for a long time, no one could decipher what the right foot and left foot meant.
As a scholar, I have spent my entire life on this left-right research. I have pored over ancient documents, traveled to ruins across the land, and examined pottery and murals.
Royalty and the common people were clearly distinguished. The right foot symbolized the royal lineage. The left foot bound the masses together. However, it was neither a military formation nor a rule for religious rituals.
One day, I discovered a small wooden box in the ruins of a royal residence. On the lid were the words 'from the right.' And from the ruins of another commoner's house, I found an identical box carved with 'from the left.' Inside were scraps of cloth.
After repeated investigations, I finally arrived at the truth. An ancient document stated this:
One day, seeing one of his retainers performing the same action as himself, the king flew into a rage. He declared that an absolute difference must be established to separate royalty from the commoners.
Royalty from the right foot, commoners from the left foot.
The true nature of the legend was
which foot they put through first when putting on their pants.
As a result of all the commoners starting to put them on from the left foot, the solidarity of the 'left-foot faction' strengthened, a revolution occurred with the cry 'We are the majority,' and the royalty was destroyed.
