Mount Fuji Next Door, Weekly Short-Short Note, 423 Characters

I live near the foothills of Mount Fuji. On such a warm, sunny day, I take a chair out into the garden to sunbathe.

"It's so warm and pleasant, isn't it?"
I say to Mount Fuji sitting next to me.
"I'm not sure if 'warm' is the right word. The foothills are warm, but I have snow on my head, after all. Still, with my head cool and my feet warm, I'm always dozing off."
I was surprised, not expecting Mount Fuji to answer me.

Mount Fuji, it turns out, is quite the chatterbox; it began telling endless stories about ancient eruptions and wouldn't stop.

Just as I was about to try and stop the conversation, it happened.
"Ah, somehow, I'm getting excited and waking up. Maybe I'll try erupting for a change."

No sooner had it said that than the ground began to rumble—go-go-go—and my body, chair and all, was jolted upward.
The garden, which had been basking in the gentle sun just moments ago, was instantly illuminated by a dark red light.
With a roar, a pillar of fire shot up, and ash covered the sky.

"Wait, stop! This isn't warm, it's a scorching hell!"
Mount Fuji laughed beside me as I suffered.

"Man, that felt refreshing after all this time!"

After that, a law was passed stating that one must not speak to Mount Fuji.

Somehow, for this week's theme, both the front and the back, isn't my short-short story pretty good?
