Unconscious Perfectionist
A little while ago, I started going to a local monthly subscription kickboxing and Pilates studio, and going there every now and then has become my new daily routine.
Moving my body really does feel good.
And then, I suddenly decided that I want to fulfill a long-held dream✨ of participating in an overseas marathon in 2026, so I started jogging. That said, I can't handle a half-marathon anymore, so I'm thinking of doing a 10km run—something loose, somewhere between walking and jogging with no time limit... something relaxed enough that my knee cartilage won't wear down any further.
As for languages, I almost always do a little bit of "daily tasks" like Duolingo, Speak, or listening to French or Thai.
Everything is pretty casual, but I am doing it, at least.
When I decided to incorporate jogging into my life and consulted ChatGPT, it created a very relaxed plan for me. It also told me, "You shouldn't do it every day; you need rest days." It said, "Rest builds an even stronger body."
I see...
Trying too hard... is not good.
And while I was listening to French, I heard a sentence that went something like, "Le perfectionnisme, ce n’est pas bon" (Perfectionism is not good).
I always say things like "don't try too hard" or "just be casual," but even so, there's still some ingrained, unconscious "perfectionism" left in me. When I see people at work who are "proper/reliable = perfectionist types," I end up criticizing myself, thinking, "I'm so sloppy, I'm too casual..."
Even though people are people, and I am me.
"Rest builds an even stronger body", I want to believe in
that, and learn to be good at "taking breaks" and "resting," and by doing this well, I want to create a cycle of becoming an even stronger person.
Break free from being a perfectionist.
I am me.
By resting plenty, I will become a stronger person💪.
It's fine to be as casual as this casual diary.
