McDonald's
The smell of fries and a slightly bustling atmosphere

In the midst of it, I am looking at my smartphone

If it were the old me, there would be a TV by my side

While eating,
watching Tamori's show that was just playing in the background,

joining in, or making quips

I am completely a TV generation

But it's different now

There is no TV in my room,
the only thing there instead is my smartphone

am watching

"Where did that idea even come from!?"

Before I knew it

It slipped out

Completely! It came out of my mouth!

When I suddenly look up

The person next to me glances at me for a second

I've become that person grinning at their screen in McDonald's

But I can't stop

Current TV shows are proper
neatly polished

So they're safe, but
a bit unsatisfying

On the other hand,
the people on note

are a mess

No punchlines,
the topics jump around,
but they're giving it their all

And above all

they are way too free

Even though they're adults,
they go to such lengths

clinging seriously
to things that don't matter at all

But that's what's great about it!

From the era of talking to the TV
to the era of talking back to our smartphones

Is it evolution, or is it regression?

The only thing I can say is

I laugh more now

And today, I'm here again
alone at McDonald's
