Common traits of people who easily get work dumped on them

Have you ever wondered why, every single time,
you realize your workload has increased?

At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, but
there was actually a real reason for it.

People who get work dumped on them
are targeted for their 'personality' rather than their ability.

This is a huge factor.

Looking kind
Looking serious
Looking reliable

= Certified as someone easy to ask.

People who are easily approached
are actually seen more as
'people who won't say no' rather than 'people who are capable'.

② Once you accept, it continues forever

Work is scary because
the person who did it once becomes the person in charge.

Even if you intended to just help out,
from the perspective of others,

it gets rewritten as

'this person's job'.

③ You prioritize others over your own work

'They seem to be struggling,'
'They seem to be in a rush,'

you're the type who stops your own work
to help them out.

But this isn't kindness;
it's often just a habit of self-sacrifice.

This is so true.

People who do things properly
don't complain,
don't show how busy they are,
and handle things calmly.

As a result,

you look like you have 'plenty of capacity,'

so more gets thrown your way.

Even though you're feeling frustrated inside,
you end up saying

'Sure, that's fine'

with your mouth.

This is what most
reassures the other person.

It wasn't that work was being dumped on me;
I had just become someone who was easy to dump work on.

Of course it piles up.

It doesn't increase because you're capable.
