Why HSPs and INFJs find life easier once they realize they were forcing themselves to believe they were fine
People have a mechanism that suppresses their emotions without them being aware of it.
This happens for various reasons, such as the functioning of defense mechanisms, but because it occurs unconsciously, it is difficult to notice.
As long as you have the energy, your ability to apply the brakes is strong.
As you age and gradually become unable to push yourself as hard, it becomes easier to realize that what you thought you were fine with was actually something you found painful.
However, this realization that you were forcing yourself is precisely what is important.
When you continue to endure things out of long-standing habit, it becomes difficult to grasp what your true feelings are like.
That is proof that your brain has been sending a command to your heart for many years, telling you that you must not feel.
Perhaps in the situation where that command was issued, there was a danger that feeling would place a heavy burden on your heart.
However, once such suppression becomes a habit, the act of putting a lid on your heart becomes routine, even in safe situations.
When you feel like you can't take it anymore or that you've reached your limit, it is painful, but that emotion is actually telling you that now is the time for change.
You must never ignore this sign.
You will go through suppression and return to your true self.
And that is okay.
There is no such thing as too early or too late for a time of change.
Oh, this is the path I was originally meant to follow.
Those who realize this are the ones who can start walking down the path they are meant to take.
