[HSC Parenting] Every Day is Creation ☆
My eldest daughter Momo (9), the artist.
She creates new works every single day.
According to her, "I'm happiest when I'm making something." This is a worldview I can't even imagine, as someone who got a 2 out of 5 in arts and crafts, but she works on her creations with glee.
The other day, my second daughter Lala (7), an expert in doll play, stripped all the Barbie dolls naked.
Older sister Momo: "Hey, Lala! Why are all the dolls naked!?"
Younger sister Lala: "Because I wanted to change the other dolls' clothes..."
Lala, who is usually quiet, looked like she was about to cry at Momo's outburst, so I, the parent, stepped in to mediate with a "Now, now."
It might be a common trait for artists, but Momo is prone to getting very angry.
However, she seemed to have a flash of inspiration right then.
"I know! I'll make clothes for the Barbies!"
Oh... our house was buzzing. Momo immediately started working on her creations.
"Mom, if you have any old cloth or towels you don't use anymore, give them all to me! I'm going to use them to make clothes!"
So, I gave her some gauze towels that had become tattered after years of use, and some socks that had also been worn out.
Here are the materials Momo used to make the doll clothes:
Momo worked silently on her creations for a total of about two days, and as she finished piece after piece, her younger sister Lala's love for her sister skyrocketed, saying, "Big sister, you're amazing... thank you!"

Her ideas really shine, like using the ribbed part of the socks for the neck of the sweaters.
I especially liked the outfit for this small doll below. (The dress under the cape was what the doll was originally wearing.) It's a finish that makes me want to say, "You've done a fine job."
Momo's collection of creations, which will likely continue to grow (perhaps Lala will be inspired by her sister and start making things too?). I'll post more updates soon!
