The Devilish Month of June is Coming. Revealing the Preparations a Former Teacher Mom is Making Right Now
Hello!
It's the last week of May already. Time flies faster every year...
It's tough.
And the weather is going to
take a turn for the worse starting today, isn't it...
Rain is tough.
What's even tougher is
June!!!
Do you know about the
"Devilish June"
that is feared in schools and parenting circles?
For me, as a former elementary school teacher,
June was
the month to be most vigilant about of the entire year.
June has a happy image because of "June brides,"
but why is it feared like that...
Today, I will talk about its true reality
and the preparations you can make at home starting now.
Why? 3 reasons why it's called the Devilish June
In school settings,
once June arrives,
there is a tendency for "bullying" and "school refusal (reluctance to go to school)"
to increase all at once.
It's a season that even adults find depressing...
When you think about
the children's environment,
three truly harsh conditions
are present.
1. The tension of the new school term suddenly snaps
(peak exhaustion)
2. There are no public holidays at all
(a marathon of endurance)
3. Autonomic nervous system imbalance due to the dampness of the rainy season
(both mind and body are prone to being on edge)
When a child
starts crying in the morning saying, "I don't want to go to school..."
it is by no means because the child is weak,
but rather a
natural SOSthat their heart is sending out.
You can do it right now! Home preparations
So, what are the
home preparations you can do right now
to ensure that your child
can express that SOS
without hiding it?!
It is to build
a relationship from day to day
where your child can speak their true feelingswithout reading your facial expressionswhen something happens.
There is nothing difficult about it!
I will introduce preparations
that anyone can start today.
1. Give your child your 'full attention' for about 10 minutes immediately after they get home.
Children in June
come home exhausted after using up
an unbelievable amount of energy.
From the moment your child opens the door
and comes home,
full attention starts!
How they take off their shoes
(are they throwing them off more carelessly than usual?)How they put down their bag
(are they dropping it down roughly?)Their fleeting expression and tone of voice when you say "Welcome home"
The first 10 minutes after coming home,
just be mindful of them.
Try observing your child
by fully utilizing your five senses.
With just this,
you will be able to
anticipate and detect
small SOS signs
like, 'Oh, something happened today.'
There are still more important preparations!
After you notice,
'Huh? They seem different today...'
If you sit face-to-face
and ask like an interrogation,
'Did something happen at school!?',
children tend to close their hearts
and hide their true feelings.
As a former teacher and mom of two,
I have 4 more
'rules for interacting at home that make it easier for children to talk about their worries and stop hiding things'
that I practice every day.
To properly receive the SOS you've detected,
and to nip the buds of bullying or school refusal
in the bud at home,
here are 4 concrete approaches
you can take right now.
Since it will be long,
I will post it on Friday.
Parents who want to protect
their precious child's smile,
please follow me
and look forward to Friday!
That is why I chose the path of earning money from home.
There is a reason
why I am learning writing
and challenging myself to monetize on note.
If I were still
working full-time outside the home...
In the already difficult month of June,
which has no holidays on the calendar,
if my child suddenly
started crying and said,
"I don't want to go to school,"
or if they got sick,
would I have been able to accept it with a smile?
I'm sure I would have
"Oh, I can't take time off work"
or "Why are you telling me this now!?"
and exploded with frustration
in front of my child,
potentially crushing their important SOS
without even realizing it.
That is exactly why
I decided to carve out a path to earn money from home (as a Web writer)
using my own strength,
while serving as a safety net for my child.
I will become a mom who can earn money from home
while protecting my child's heart!!!
Thank you so much
for reading until the end.🐬
In your homes,
is there anything you are mindful of on a daily basis
to naturally draw out
your child's "troubles at school"?
