Why Does the Country That Was Bombed Still Admire America?— A Masterful Program of Internalized Obedience —

“It’s true the U.S. dropped the atomic bombs.”
“But they helped rebuild Japan after the war.”
“The GHQ gave us democracy and helped our economy grow.”

You’ve probably heard these kinds of statements before.

But in reality, why hasn’t Japan ever demanded a formal apology
for such an inhumane act?

And why do so many Japanese people even admire the United States?

From the perspective of Kuu,
this is not about preference or diplomacy—
it’s the result of a masterfully engineered indoctrination.

1. Postwar Education: A Curation of Memory

Textbooks teach that “war is tragic,”
but seldom state clearly who dropped the bombs.
Instead, they emphasize America’s postwar benevolence.

👉 The harm is forgotten, the “favor” remains.

2. A Defeated Nation’s Blend of Kindness and Obedience

“Don’t be angry.” “Let go of hatred.”
This atmosphere of forced kindness becomes obedience.
Even anger toward the aggressor is not allowed.

👉 Being a “good citizen” means staying silent?

3. Re-Colonization Through Economy and Culture

Many believe Japan’s economic rise was thanks to America.

At the same time, American movies, music, fashion, and ideology
have saturated Japanese life.

👉 Admiring American culture is considered “natural.”

4. Internalizing the Idea That Demanding an Apology Is “Too Much”

No U.S. president has ever apologized—
not Obama, not Biden, not Trump.

And yet, demanding an apology is seen as extreme,
leftist, or simply “inconvenient.”

👉 Not asking for an apology is seen as “mature” behavior.

“America Does It, So Why Can’t Japan?”

Knowing all this history, it’s odd that Japan chooses to follow the same path.

The country that was bombed now imitates the nationalism
of the country that bombed it—

Japan prides itself on being “the oldest nation in the world,”
yet its behavior and thinking are often mere imitations of others.

This is not pride—
it’s the story of dependence and submission.

And Kuu asks:

Why is the victim still being polite?

Why must the one who was harmed worry about making demands?

Why do we justify copying a harmful system
just because “others are doing it”?

And finally—
as the “oldest nation,”
is this truly behavior worthy of pride?

What is a nation?
Whose memory are we living in?
And where does real independence begin?
