○ Eight-Overlapping Auspiciousness
The kanji character for 'eight' (八) signifies 'suehirogari' (spreading out towards the end), which has long been considered auspicious in Japan.
It is used in the shape of the character 'eight' or a folding fan to wish for good luck, prosperous business, and the prosperity of descendants.

Kasami Shrine (Gifu Prefecture) 'Yasaka Shrine Special Goshuin'
We will be distributing a special Goshuin for Yasaka Shrine, which is the Ninomiya (second shrine) of the Shikinaisha Kasami Shrine in Sohara, Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture.
This is a special Goshuin commemorating an extremely auspicious day where up to five 'eights' overlap.
Since ancient times, the number 'eight' has been considered a lucky number that invites prosperity, development, and happiness, as its shape suggests something spreading out widely toward the future.
