[Poem] Rumination
When I sit in the chair
the pads of small fingers poke my back, calling me
When I turn to the right
a tiny giggle
I turn back
When I turn to the left
a small shadow darts away
Turning to the right
turning to the left
Because you were laughing so happily
Turning to the right
turning to the left
Pretending I couldn't find you, no matter how long
though now, you wouldn't laugh at such things anymore
When I suddenly sit in the chair
I felt as if a small phantom poked my back, calling me
The laughter from that day
returns to both my ears
Now then, which way should I turn?
A childhood memory, behind my back
as if wanting to be found
is waiting for me to turn around
