I Moved Forward Even Without Understanding: An AI Beginner's Experience with Claude Code
Hello, this is Hoshi-Mama⭐️
I am still an AI beginner. I am mainly studying ChatGPT.
……However.
As a curious person… Hoshi-Mama😆, the term "Claude Code" just kept catching my eye.
Before I knew it, I had tried it out a little bit✨
When I first saw the name, honestly, I felt like, "...Code? That sounds kind of difficult💦"
Just having "Code" in the name made me feel like it was a world unrelated to me.
What I share on note is information that is as easy to understand as possible, aimed at housewives who have just started using AI.
That is exactly why I was a bit hesitant at first, thinking, "Isn't this for people who are knowledgeable? Is it okay for me to talk about it?"😅
But still.
I thought it would be a waste to just ignore something I was curious about just because I didn't understand it.
I decided to take the plunge and follow my curiosity!
And what I felt after actually trying it was……
It wasn't a world as far away as I had imagined at all! That's what I felt😊
What is Claude Code?
The image I had of Claude Code was something like, "A tool that works with you to actually carry out tasks on your computer while chatting with an AI."
For example
・It explains things when you ask, "What does this mean?"
・When you ask, "What should I do next?", it doesn't just give an answer, it thinks through the steps with you, saying, "Let's proceed in this order."
・It even offers concrete suggestions for corrections, saying, "It would be better to fix this part like this."
But what surprised me was what came next!
It doesn't just write text; it creates tables📊, organizes information, and even builds the structure of simple systems.
When I say, "I want something like this," it feels like it gradually takes shape.
It's less like leaving everything to it, and more like the feeling of building something together while consulting side-by-side.
I thought, "So this is what they call an 'AI agent'!"😄
My first impression was, naturally, "This looks difficult."
Claude Code is an AI that helps with tasks like writing and fixing code.
……When you hear that, you naturally get a bit guarded, don't you?
I was the same way💦
Even though I've gradually gotten used to asking AI questions and getting answers, the moment the word "code" came up, it suddenly felt very technical.
Just seeing words like "terminal" or "command" lined up makes me feel like, "Oh, this isn't for me."
Honestly, at first, I thought, "This is still too advanced for me"😅
But once I tried it, it was just an extension of conversation
When I actually tried it out a little, the thing that made me go "Aha!" was...
The feeling that it progressed more like an extension of a conversation than I had expected.
It's not like I understood everything from the start; that was definitely not the case.
If anything, there were far more things I didn't understand.
Even so, strangely enough, I didn't get that stuck feeling of "I can't do anything, I can't move forward."
When I just asked in plain language, "What does this mean?" or "What should I do next?", it properly led to the next step.
This feeling was a huge relief for me✨
The sense of security that comes from seeing 'what to do next'
ChatGPT is an AI that answers when you ask it a question.
But my impression of Claude Code was that it's an AI that moves forward with you...
It's not just about getting an answer; you can even see 'what you should do next'.
It feels less like a teacher and more like someone sitting next to you, thinking through how to proceed together😊
That's exactly why I think I was able to keep up without feeling left behind, even when I didn't understand everything.
Things that made me feel like even a homemaker could use it
While looking at how to use it, there were moments where I felt,
'Oh, a homemaker could actually use this quite a bit.'
feeling moments.
For example...
・Neatly organizing household budget notes and data
・Having it help me think through the steps for things I want to do
・Getting advice on how to improve articles or writing
Each one might seem small, but,
in the sense that it reduces the 'time spent searching and getting lost on my own,' I felt it was actually a really big deal😊
What I thought after actually trying it
To be honest, at first I thought, 'Do homemakers really need Claude Code?' (laughs)
But once I took the plunge and tried it, I was able to proceed while interacting with Claude, so there was almost no time where I 'stopped because I didn't understand.'
What I thought to myself at that moment was,
'There is no way I could have done this alone.'
That is what I thought.
That is why I now feel that it is definitely a viable tool for homemakers too!✨
The experience of 'being able to move forward without understanding everything'
The best part about this experience was,
that I didn't have to assume, 'I can't do this until I know more!'
I am still an AI beginner, and I don't even understand code.
Even so, before I knew it, I had managed to get through the installation and initial setup,
all in a single day.
'Even if you don't understand, you can still move forward a little'
Having this feeling was huge for me✨
Summary
What I, an AI beginner, felt about Claude Code is,
that it is an 'AI that helps you take the next step.'
And another thing I felt was,
that the range of things it can do is much wider than I had imagined.
Even if there is a lot you don't know, and even if you don't understand everything, you can still move forward a little bit.
Claude Code was something that showed me a world I can gradually get closer to, rather than a world that is 'still too early for me.'
That is my honest impression right now😊
A little bit of honesty
I stretched myself a bit to try out Claude Code this time, but...
there were definitely parts that I still found difficult.
That is the honest truth💦
But at the same time, the feeling of 'I want to understand this better so I can use it properly!'
started to grow within me.
So for now,
I think I will go back and study the basics of AI properly again from here😊
And regarding Claude Code, which I touched on this time,
this isn't the end.
Once I have deepened my understanding a little more,
I hope to share my insights and any changes again.
Thank you so much for reading until the end ⭐️
