Freedom and Dignity Protected by Kindness
Continuing to provide care that makes people feel cherished
Thank you so much for your daily care.
Even in your busy daily lives, I am truly grateful for the way you always put the residents first.
Not using physical restraints.
That is not just about "not taking away a person's freedom," but also
about sincerely telling them, "It is okay for you to just be yourself" I believe.
For example, crouching down to make eye contact when speaking to them.
Calling them by name and talking about the weather today.
Such trivial interactions
often soothe an anxious heart, don't they?
One day, a resident murmured,
"Thank you, I feel at ease when you come to see me."
Hearing those words, my heart felt warm.
Even though there are moments in the daily hustle and bustle when I wonder, "Was this the right thing to do?",
it was a moment when I realized that my presence is connected to someone else's peace of mind.
A relationship of trust that begins with "care without" physical restraints

It is not just about the technique of "not tying them down."
It is about making them feel, "I am allowed to be myself here."
To achieve that, I think it is important that we truly convey our sincere respect for them.
The eye level when you say "Good morning" in the morning.
The way you place your hands when helping them change clothes.
The one word you say when you notice an anxious expression.
Those small moments are actually the moments that protect that person's "dignity".
We are human, too, so
there are days when we get tired and our feelings waver.
Sometimes we even think, "I might not be able to do this anymore."
But even so, while being saved by the residents' smiles
and encouraged by a colleague's kind words,
we are pouring our energy into someone right in front of us again today.
Please be proud of your hard work.
And I hope that from now on, our care will continue to create "peace of mind"
and help us create time where they can feel, "I'm glad I'm here."
The warmth of all the staff shapes this place.
Thank you all so very much, always.
A small change in awareness leads to great peace of mind.
Let us deliver care that protects "that person's individuality" with our own hands.
