Festival 1
If I were good at singing, life would be much more fun, wouldn't it….
I felt that strongly yesterday.
The reason is that yesterday was my son's school cultural festival, where I watched performances by the light music club and the music club, and I also listened to beautiful singing voices at Urimo-san's 'Summer Festival' on Stand.fm.
Actually, I hadn't intended to go to the cultural festival.
However, in the morning, I received a message from my son, who should have been heading to school by train, saying that the train was delayed.
It couldn't be helped.
Should I drive him?
Since I'm going to the trouble of driving him, should I watch the cultural festival….
So, I decided to go.
When I told my son I was going, he told me there was a girl in the light music club who was an incredibly good singer.
He said he heard her during the student-only cultural festival the day before and was deeply moved by how good she was.
After dropping my son off at school, I killed time at Komeda's until the stage performance at 10:00.
When I arrived at the school, I spotted my son frying potatoes at a stall set up outside.
Since I hadn't intended to go, I hadn't even asked what my son would be doing.
Oh, come on~.
My son with his sleeves rolled up, frying potatoes—he looks pretty good, doesn't he?
I thought to myself, my inner doting parent exploding.
I wanted to buy and eat the potatoes my son fried, but I didn't have time, so I headed to the gymnasium.
First was the dance club's performance.
Ah, I thought, as someone with no sense of rhythm, if only I could dance like that.
I thought it would be nice if they danced to a King & Prince or Number_i song, but I worried that if I got too excited and made a scene by myself, I wouldn't be able to face my son, so I watched with mixed feelings of wanting them to do it and not wanting them to.
They didn't perform either song, and the dance club's presentation ended.
Next was the light music club.
I don't think there was such a thing as a 'light music club' in our day.
Maybe there was, but at my school in the countryside, there was no such fancy name; it was just called a 'band'.
We only formed bands for the cultural festival and performed a few songs at the after-party.
In the light music club's performance, many groups (bands) played one or two songs each.
Whether my ears were bad, the microphone was bad, or the speakers were bad, it was hard to hear even though they were singing.
Among them, a girl appeared whose voice flowed straight into my ears.
She was singing the song 'Ashita mo' by the group 'SHISHAMO'.
♪ It's not all good things, you know ~
There are times when it hurts and I want to cry ~ ♪
I knew immediately that this was the girl with the great singing voice my son had mentioned.
She even had short hair, just like my son said.
She was certainly good.
Moreover, she was singing while playing the keyboard (is it called playing or hitting?).
The fact that she could sing while performing is a mystery to me.
And she even had the composure to show a smile from time to time.
While performing, no less‼️
No way‼️
That voice flowing straight into my ears….
It wasn't that the microphone was in bad condition….
It was a matter of compatibility with the microphone….
It seemed like she had made the microphone her ally.
Both the lyrics and the singing voice were easy to listen to.
The smile she showed occasionally was cute 🩷
There were other good singers in other bands, but that girl left the biggest impression on me.
When the light music club's performance was all over and I was about to leave, they announced that the music club's performance would be next.
Looking, I saw the girl who had been singing so well while playing the keyboard preparing.
That's right.
I remembered my son saying that she was also in the music club.
Wanting to hear her singing voice once more, I sat back down to listen.
The first song was 'Cherry' by 'Spitz'.
The vocalist was not the girl who was good at singing, but a different girl.
The next song was 'Ao to Natsu' by 'Mrs. GREEN APPLE'.
This song was sung by the short-haired girl who was good at singing.
This was also great~💖
Both her low and high notes were wonderful~.
The lyrics of the song are good, too.
This also flowed straight into my ears and heart.
Ah, I felt a little disappointed, thinking I really wanted this girl to sing the Spitz song too.
It's not that the other girl was bad, but I wanted to hear it in this short-haired girl's voice.
Ah, being good at singing is wonderful‼️
With that, I left the cultural festival.
And then, from 3:00 PM, was the 'Summer Festival' on Urimo-san's Stand.fm.
It was hot that day, so I bought a non-alcoholic drink on the way home, thinking it would feel even more like a festival if I drank it during the festival.
…Anyway, as I was writing the 'Summer Festival' article, it became extremely long, so I decided to split it into two.
For now, this time was about my son's cultural festival~.
Thank you for reading until the end😊
Thank you for the happiness💖
Inner peace💕
