Short: The Successful Candidate Who Received No Applause

Clang, clang, clang, clang—

“The next train is passing through.” Coming from the other side of the railroad crossing was the “You-Have-To-Say-That Express.”

“Oh, it’s on time today.” The raccoon station attendant adjusted his hat.

Next, the “I’m-Right Express,” the “I’m-Doing-This-For-Your-Own-Good Express,” and the “It’s-Not-Good-To-Start-With-Negativity Express” passed by at high speed.
Every time a train passed in front of the crossing, a murmuring voice could be heard in the venue. Occasionally, someone would laugh while clapping, saying, “That’s so relatable, isn’t it?” and the track maintenance worker acting as a judge would glance up. When the “It’s-Common-Sense Express” passed, there was a buzz, and a past buzzword, “That’s just your subjective opinion, isn’t it?” livened up the place. Meanwhile, the “I-Don’t-Know Express” rolled by slowly, but no one seemed to pay it any mind. As the egg-colored train headed east and the “Ignore-Skill Express” came into view, I realized, “That train passed the audition...”

The track maintenance worker silently held up a passing grade sign. This year, there was only one successful car.
