A message from my current self to my future self
To the me who creates, this morning
I wrote this to give you a little encouragement
If I may make an excuse, it was long, so I split it up
Self-expression is self-assertion
I believe it is the act of bringing one's inner self out into the open
Contrary to one's own intentions, creation
is left to how a third party feels about it
and depending on the interpretation, it can hurt someone
"It was sunny today, so I went for a walk"
Even with just this much, the reader
might feel nothing at all
might be influenced to go for a walk themselves tomorrow
or might feel depressed, thinking they were being talked down to
it can become medicine or poison
However, trying to understand every reader
or trying to give 100% hope is an impossible task
That, in itself, is nothing but arrogance
I sometimes see people on note say their drafts are piling up
It seems they can't publish their work because it might be misunderstood
Including those who don't publish their creations at all because they treat them as perishable
They say they end up with drafts they can't publish
If the writer is satisfied with that, then it's fine
If you just add a little to the draft, change the expression,
and bring even half of your thoughts into the light
…you aren't writing for others, are you?
The introduction was a way to give shape to your gratitude, wasn't it?
Information products are because you want people to read and buy them, right?
Isn't it fine if it all comes back to you?
Self-expression is the height of self-satisfaction
When you create,
don't become someone who can't be handled at all
become medicine or poison, and at the very least, heal yourself
A message from my current self to my future self
To acknowledge the self that didn't settle for the fish tank and went out into the vast ocean
