My Mother's Transformation, Fading Memories, and My Patience: The Hair Salon Edition
I've been and gone, the hair salon mission with Mom!
I arrived at my parents' house 10 minutes before the scheduled time. However, Mom was already fully prepared. She was perfectly dressed in her usual 'uniform' (she loves it so much it's all she wears) and was full of enthusiasm, saying, 'Yes! I'm ready to go anytime!'
It seems my father had seen the memo board we use for communication and had been sure to remind her since the morning, saying, 'Today is the day for the hair salon.'

Dad, you understood that note well! Nice assist!
However, here comes the daughter's check.
'Mom, you're getting your hair dyed today, right? That outfit will get dirty, so let's change into something dark-colored!'

We had to reset her hard-earned enthusiasm for a moment. After changing into dark clothes, we were finally off.
The setting this time was the Aeon mall.
First, we perfectly executed the 'important mission' of using the restroom before entering the hair salon.
After that, the coloring finished without any major trouble, and Mom was in a good mood.
I did a fist pump in my heart, thinking, 'Yes!'
Now, it was lunchtime.
We decided to buy bento boxes to take home for Dad, who was watching the house, so we headed to the deli section.
Mom has no problem walking, but when she has a shopping cart as her partner, she enters 'invincible mode.' It seems she feels safer pushing a cart.
However, Mom freezes when there are too many choices.
When I narrowed it down to two choices, asking, 'Would you like the thin sushi rolls or the chirashi sushi?', she successfully decided, 'I think I'd like the thin rolls.' When I showed her the sweet potato steamed bread, she reacted like a young girl, saying, 'Oh, that looks delicious!' and put it in the basket.
......Up to this point, it was perfect.
The incident (?) occurred on the way back to drop her off at home.
Mom, who I thought had chosen things with me, put them in the basket, and even paid for them, suddenly said,
'I didn't get to buy anything today...'
There it is!! The usual thing!! Haha
Once we're on the way home, her memories from just a moment ago seem to go off somewhere.
'You bought plenty of things to take home! Dad and Sacchan (the dog) are waiting, so let's hurry home!'
While coaxing her like that, we managed to return.
I'm sure she just didn't want to go home yet. It might be proof that the outing was fun.
But Mom, the 'time limit for me to be gentle' was actually at its breaking point too...! Haha
While mentally retorting, 'We'll buy even more next time (even though we already bought plenty!),' today's mission is successfully complete!
'I wonder what kind of mission is waiting for me next...'
