I found a gluten-free "pizza" at Domino's Pizza!
Hello, this is hona!
It's Saturday. The weekend is here, isn't it? How is everyone spending their time?
I can finally go out starting tomorrow! The self-restraint period was long... 🥺 So, I've been doing things I can do at home, like excitedly planning my outing for tomorrow, cleaning the house to get a little bit of exercise, making clothes for my children, and for some reason, suddenly starting to make torn-paper art, haha.
On this Saturday, I'd like to share a relaxed post, fitting for the weekend.
That is,Domino's Pizza actually has gluten-free pizza!I'd like to share this surprising discovery with you.
Happened to order Domino's Pizza
My husband was out for a business dinner yesterday, so I spent the time with my three children, but since it was Friday, I thought, why not order delivery for dinner?
As I've mentioned in previous articles, my husband has allergies. He cannot eat wheat, apples, sesame, shrimp, or bananas! That said, it's not a severe allergy, but he says his body feels better when he doesn't consume them.
This "wheat" is particularly troublesome, and since the synonymous Japanese seasoning "soy sauce" basically contains wheat, he can't eat almost anything when eating out or ordering delivery.
Let alone "pizza," the representative of delivery food, which is out of the question. So, we usually only order delivery pizza when we have guests.
However, my husband wasn't there yesterday! Which means, no food restrictions!!
So, we decided to order Domino's Pizza delivery for the first time in a while.
Encountering the "Pizza Rice Bowl"
And so, when I was about to order, I managed to find a Domino's Pizza flyer in the recycling bin that I hadn't thrown away yet, and as I was looking at the flyer...
"Pizza Rice Bowl", it was written there!

Rice means they use rice? Does that mean it's gluten-free??
I was curious, so I immediately accessed the website and looked at the allergy information...
No wheat used! \(^o^)/
No other allergens either!! \(^o^)/

I wanted to let my husband try it, so I ordered it right away!
By the way, there were about 5 other rice bowls, but they contained my husband's allergens (probably wheat, apples, or sesame), so unfortunately, it seems he couldn't eat those...
My husband, who has a wheat allergy, is overjoyed.
And then, this morning.
Since the kids are well aware that their father has an allergy, they immediately told him, "Dad, we found a pizza you can eat!"
My husband was very curious, asking, "What is it?" When we showed him, he was surprised, as he hadn't known about it either.
Then we opened it. Just as I imagined, it looked like the usual pizza toppings and sauce served over rice.
My husband took a bite...
"This is pizza!", he said. Lol
Congratulations. The Pizza Rice Bowl has been certified as "pizza" in our household! \(^o^)/\(^o^)/
My husband says the saddest thing for someone with an allergy is the situation where they have to eat different food from everyone else at the same table.
In that sense, being able to enjoy the same flavor even with pizza delivery is something that makes him very happy. He really looked delighted.
A little bit of gluten-free info
By the way, my husband said the Pizza Rice Bowl felt a little small in portion size... (^^;;
Also, as a super quick tip, it was a bit tricky to find the Pizza Rice Bowl on the Domino's Pizza website, so I'll share how to find it here.
You have to go through the "Solo Menu" on the top page of the menu.

On the next page, if you scroll down a little, you'll find the Pizza Rice Bowl!

Perhaps because of the difficult situation during the COVID-19 pandemic or out of consideration for diversity, I feel that the restaurant industry is being more mindful of allergies than before.
For example, allergy information on menus has become easier to see, and when I went to Bikkuri Donkey, they had a hamburger steak that doesn't use dairy or wheat (though the portion was also small). I feel that consideration for people with allergies is gradually improving.
Even so, when we go out to eat, especially to food courts in shopping malls, I feel really sorry for him because there is almost nothing he can eat... That is why I am conscious of creating a system where we can easily cook meals without using wheat or other allergens so that we can enjoy meals together at home.✨
To everyone who has a wheat allergy and loves pizza.
I hope this information is helpful to you. (^^)
Well then, thank you for reading!
See ya
