Golf with my best friend and his wife
From kindergarten through high school and even our gap year,
my best friend, who has always been by my side, came to Nasu
bringing his wife along.
They fell in love with Nasu Chifuriko Country Club,
and we are playing a round together with our wives.
It is a beautiful golf course overlooking Mount Nasu.
It delights us with cherry blossoms and crabapples in spring, green trees in summer,
and autumn leaves in the fall.
Furthermore, this course uses all-bent grass,
so the turf stays green even when it gets cold.
Despite it being mid-September, it is as hot as midsummer.
Even in Nasu, when the sky is perfectly clear,
the reflection off the grass makes it very hot.
My shots were great last time.
This time, I am playing the round while wiping away sweat.
I have spinal stenosis and haven't been practicing,
so playing a round without preparation is reckless,
and I am no match for my best friend, for whom golf is his reason for living,
but I am still trying my best to keep up.
However, I tensed up, hit a duff, and hurt my lower back.
My best friend's wife has a powerful shot,
and today her approach and putting are also good.
My wife has a beautiful swing
and is continuing to play well.
The problem is us men.
Still, playing golf with my best friend is fun.
Especially since we are playing as couples.
Relaxing at a resort course in Nasu,
I had always thought a day like this would come.
The open-air bath after the game was also wonderful.
