An Outrageous Request
( #ShortShort Body: 406 characters)
"I'm sorry. I can only think about soccer right now. Unless you break a bone in your leg, I can't date you."
That was the answer from the senior in the soccer club I admired.
It was the moment my first love ended.
I went home crying.
"God, please, for the sake of my love, let him break his leg."
I know it's an outrageous request. But I want him to look my way. Is it no good?
Punishment for that thought came to me. I hit the little toe of my right foot on the corner of a bookshelf and broke it. It was adding insult to injury. On the way back from the hospital, walking with unfamiliar crutches, I cried again.
The next morning, I got a LINE message from him.
"Sorry about yesterday. I said something terrible. Please go out with me."
After school, when I went to the designated spot, he was also on crutches.
He said he had hit his right little toe on the corner of a desk and broken it.
The fracture was painful, but my love bore fruit. Thank you, God.
This is truly a case of 'labor lost and gain earned,' isn't it?
Huh? You say the meaning is different? Don't be so pedantic.

It's Hallelujah ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ.

I also fell on my bottom and suffered a compression fracture of my spine. I'm living normally while wearing a corset, but I've been resting since April. Finally, I've been allowed to go for walks recently. Oh dear.
