The Theatrical University | Weekly Short Short Note

　I am a staff member at a university for seniors that supports lifelong learning for the elderly.

　To avoid leaking personal information if they fall victim to scams, the students use fake names and occupations. The teacher takes attendance according to the settings submitted in advance.

“Micchan from the Edo crepe wholesaler”
“Hmph”

“Ko-san from the Kyoto Japanese confectionery shop”
“Mmph”

“Kuni-chan, leader of the traveling troupe”
“Heh”

　It is difficult because if you get the settings wrong, they get sulky and won't answer.

　When school ends, it's our turn. We stand at the school gate in pairs, standing by with portable medicine boxes.

“Kacchan, are you ready?”
“OK, Su-chan.”

　The students came out. We stood on both sides of them, and I held up the medicine box and said, “Quiet, quiet! Do you not see this family crest? Who do you think is present here? It is none other than the former Vice Shogun, Lord Mito Mitsukuni! Everyone, lower your heads! Bow down!”
“Yes, sir!” Passersby prostrate themselves.

　They absolutely won't leave school unless we do this.
　It seems they enjoy the pun of 'revealing' (Komon) at the school gate (Komon).
