Not Enough Romance

"Hey, listen to this."
　My best friend called me.

"He says he's going on a journey again."
　Again with that 'man's romance' stuff, huh? Last time, he said he was 'going to look for a round stone' and went missing for half a year. He ended up coming back with a pretty marble. I wonder if he's going to look for a square dog this time.

"All I want is a little everyday romance."
　Like wanting him to say 'let's hold hands' when I'm carrying bags home from shopping, or wanting to laugh together while our umbrellas get blown away saying 'it's like a storm today,' or wanting him to whisper my name in the center of the world...

　What she's looking for is that kind of common romance. A little romance that you can never have enough of. I understand well that she wants to nurture that with him. Romance and romanticism—the difference between having that 'ce' or not is huge. Why are men so selfish?

　Thinking that, I chime in with 'I know, right?' to her complaints. I get it, I really do. But you see, I don't have a boyfriend. So, I'm not likely to get that kind of romance.

　However, I'm satisfied even on my own. I have this. As long as I have this, I don't need anything else. Nom nom nom nom.

　My favorite chestnut bun. Yes, marron!
