Time Mashimashi

　Today, Sato-kun brought a guest. She was a young, cute woman.
　She introduced herself as Serika Yumemachi.

　When Sato-kun spoke to her because she was lost, she apparently replied like this.
“I was staying for a while with Nyannyu-sensei, the assistant to Dr. Annyu.”

　Let me answer Sato-kun’s question of “Who is Nyannyu-sensei?”
“Nyannyu calls himself my assistant, but he’s actually a former housemate I used to do research with—in other words, what people call an ex-boyfriend.”

　Not only Sato-kun, but Serika-chan was also surprised. But, that’s just how it is. Due to certain circumstances, he is continuing his experiments at a laboratory on the other side of town.

　According to her, she had been helping with time machine research at Nyannyu’s place, but it didn’t reach completion, and she was on her way home.

　I asked her, “Would you like to try using a time machine?” meaning, “Will you be my test subject?” Her eyes sparkled as she said, “May I?” The word ‘pure’ seems to have been coined just for her. Lucky me!

　This machine flies into the past. It just shows you memories you’d forgotten. That’s all. You can’t change the past, and you can’t see anything other than what you saw in the past. Well, that part is a secret from her. You can’t make a time machine that easily, you know.

　I had her sit in the chair of the private machine, closed the door, and flipped the switch. For just a few seconds, there was a strange noise, and the door opened.

“How was it? Were you able to go to the past?”
　When I asked, she nodded vigorously.
“Doctor. Thank you very much.”
　She thanked me with a very radiant face.

　I exchanged contact information with her, showed her the way home, and sent her off.

“Doctor. Didn’t you need to hear the results properly from Serika-chan?”
“Sato-kun, you saw it too, didn’t you? Her face. That told me the experiment was a success.”

　This is ‘Time Mashimashi.’ It flies into the past and adds a little extra to your happy, fun memories.

　Seeing her face, I knew it was a success.
　Come visit again anytime, Serika-chan.
