Go Over My Dead Body / #Ao-Bura Literature Club
(#ShortShort Body: 799 characters)
I received a message from Yamada saying, 'It's been 10 years since then. Let's meet up.' The location is listed as 'Kareki-so Room 101.' How nostalgic. Has it really been 10 years already?
'Kareki-so' was the boarding house I lived in during my college years. It was falling apart, but the rent was incredibly cheap, so I was grateful for it.
Yamada was the freshman who moved into the room next to mine when I became a sophomore. On the day he moved in, he brought a 1.8-liter bottle of sake and said, 'I look forward to working with you.'
I wondered why it wasn't moving-in soba, but I decided to gratefully accept it and drink it in my room. Naturally, Yamada came over as well.
By the way, I was already over 20, but Yamada was still a minor. So, I was the only one drinking, talking about nonsense, while Yamada drank tea and nodded along.
From then on, Yamada would come over to my room almost every day, clutching that 1.8-liter bottle. Whenever I talked about something stupid, Yamada would say with a serious face, 'What are you talking about?' while the corners of his mouth curled up in a smile.
I drank with Yamada in my room the day before I graduated, too.
'Ten years after graduation, we'll come back here and drink again!'
'Senpai, thank you for everything. These past three years were fun.'
'Yeah. I really enjoyed having you around, too.'
I started to feel teary-eyed, the alcohol was hitting me, and in the heat of the moment, I said something nonsensical.
'I'm just an ordinary person, but I think you're going to be a big shot. Even if I fall, you go over my dead body!'
'Understood. Senpai, please lie down there like a corpse.'
Yamada laid me face down and stomped over me from my feet.
Ten years later, Yamada bought 'Kareki-so,' rebuilt it into a high-rise apartment, and is living a life of leisure. Yamada has far surpassed me, as I toil away at a trading company.
I wonder what kind of luxurious room that 'Kareki-so Room 101' has become. I'm looking forward to it.

I was thinking about a piece to submit to the Monoka Kingdom, but before I knew it, I was participating in the Ao-Bura Literature Club. That's strange. Why?
With that said, I'll end it here for today.
Hallelujah ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ.
