My father is a huge fan of the Kansai Ligers. He is busy cheering whenever there is a TV broadcast.

“Okawa hits it! It’s high, it’s high, oh, it looks like it might go foul...”
The announcer follows the trajectory of the cleanup hitter’s ball.
“Get in there! Go! Get in!”
When my father yells at the TV, the deep foul ball near the right-field pole changes its trajectory and becomes a home run.

It happens all the time. I once told my father that maybe his cheering bends the Earth’s orbit, momentarily changing the direction of gravity and causing the ball to curve. He, of course, denied it.

The next batter, Kato, also hits a ball that suddenly hops just before the fence and becomes a home run.
It definitely curves because of my father’s cheering. My father denies it. Even so, the Earth is bending.
I worry that this abnormal weather might also be my father’s psychic power. Surely that’s not the case, though...

My father, who has worked diligently, will soon reach retirement age. If he retires and cheers every day, the Kansai Ligers will surely win the championship by a landslide. I can already see my father’s happy face.
