I've shoved things away, but I'm easygoing
( #Short-short Body: 883 characters)
In the morning, the alarm clock rang. I rubbed my sleepy eyes and got up.
On my way to the kitchen, I felt like I saw a mountain of laundry I'd shoved into the basket yesterday in the corner of my eye, but I decided to pretend I didn't see it. "The laundry won't run away, and neither will I, so, oh well."
Saying that, I toasted some bread.
"Mmm, a fragrant smell."
That was the smell of the toast burning.
When I finished breakfast, dishes piled up in the sink. They were shoved into the gaps so tightly I couldn't see the bottom.
"This is art."
It was perfectly balanced and wouldn't collapse. Truly art.
"That's right. I'll do some cleaning for the first time in a while."
The moment I pulled the vacuum cleaner cord, my hand hit a shelf, and the stack of receipts I'd shoved in yesterday fell down.
"Oh my, it's like fallen leaves. Even though winter is almost over."
Muttering something that didn't make sense, I left the receipts and the vacuum cleaner as they were and brewed some tea. Relaxing.
By late morning, I discovered that the vegetables I'd shoved into the back of the fridge had gone limp.
"I wonder if they're from China. Limp... just kidding."
I made vegetable soup, and it boiled over.
"Soup overflowing like a fountain~🎵"
Humming a strange tune, I happily ate my lunch.
I had intended to go shopping in the afternoon, but since there were about a hundred shoes piled up in the entryway, I shoved them into the shoe cabinet.
"Does a centipede live in this house?"
I forgot about going shopping and busily shoved them in.
In the evening, the sunset shone through the window.
"A beautiful sky. Sunsets don't burn, do they?"
Deep in thought, I prepared dinner. The menu was whatever. I shoved whatever ingredients were around into a pot and turned on the heat. It burned and overflowed, but is it delicious?
At night, before going to sleep, I looked back on the day. I couldn't help but feel that I hadn't accomplished a single thing I was supposed to do.
"There's always tomorrow, and the day after. There's next week, next month, next year."
I told myself rhythmically, oh well, and crawled into bed.
"Oh no! I almost forgot."
Breathlessly, I stopped the alarm clock that had been ringing since morning.
"Good work. I'm counting on you tomorrow, too."
I shoved the alarm button back in and closed my eyes.
This is Maika-san's day.
(End)
It's a lovely day, isn't it.
