💊✨ Second Theme: "Why I, a Pharmacist, Recommend Acupuncture and Moxibustion"
Hello! I'm hiro, a pharmacist.
After graduating from university, I worked at a pharmaceutical company and a drug wholesaler, then as a hospital pharmacist, and I currently work as a pharmacy pharmacist.
I recently started a blog as part of a "Pharmacist Explains!" series, where I introduce prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
My husband is actually an acupuncturist.A professional in Eastern medicine!
However, when it comes to acupuncture and moxibustion, don't many people have the impression that it is"scary"?
I myself, until I got married, had almost no interest in Eastern medicine, and was actually quite skeptical.
I wondered if herbal medicine even "worked," and regarding acupuncture and moxibustion, I only had the impression that it was "painful" or "scary", and I had never even tried it. I would like to talk about the reason why I decided to make the appeal of acupuncture and moxibustion my second theme.
🩺 Medicine is not the only solution

I have worked as a pharmacist for many years, but while facing patients, I have increasingly found myself thinking about these things.
✅ "Can it really be solved with medicine alone?"
✅ "How can I fundamentally improve chronic ailments?"
That was when I encountered acupuncture and moxibustion.
When I received acupuncture for the first time due to my husband's influence, I was honestly quite scared. But when I actually received the treatment, I was surprised to find "Huh? My stiff shoulders feel better!". My neck pain also eased, and I had a sensation of my body feeling light and airy.
Even so, at first I thought, "Was it just a coincidence?". However, after receiving treatment several times, I began to think, "Maybe there is another approach to conditioning the body besides medicine?".
🏥 What I felt through my own experience

About 10 years ago, I suffered from stomach cancer and underwent surgery to remove four-fifths of my stomach.
Since then, I have been living while exploring what I can do to boost my immune system.
Having had my life saved by the power of Western medicine, I certainly do not intend to say that "medicine is bad".
Rather, I believe that the appropriate use of medicine is very important.
However, I have come to feel that care that conditions the body, rather than relying solely on medicine, is also important.
Acupuncture and moxibustion gradually became "one of the options" for me as a means to boost my immune system.
🌿 What I want to convey precisely because I am a "Pharmacist × Acupuncturist"

As a pharmacist, it is important to convey the correct way to use medicine.
But I have come to want people to know that by incorporating acupuncture, moxibustion, and self-care, rather than "just medicine," healthier options can be expanded.
In this blog, I will share
"Hints for thinking about health in a balanced way, including medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, and self-care."!
💡 "I'm a little curious about acupuncture and moxibustion, but what is it actually like?"
💡 "Is there anything I can do before relying on medicine?"
While answering those questions, I will convey "how to engage with Eastern medicine, which I can convey precisely because I am a pharmacist".
