When We Notice Our Children Growing, We Are Growing Too
This summer, I felt as though the children's growth accelerated all at once.
My second son, whose speech had been delayed, began connecting meaningful words little by little after a certain day.
I feel that such changes often occur after visiting their grandparents.
In psychology, this is called a "psychological safety base."
Having a source of comfort gives people the courage to step into the unknown world.
Just like a plant that grows toward the light while avoiding obstacles, children, too, seem to grow guided by a certain program.
Watching them, I feel that growth is not something special, but a process inherent in everyone from the start.
Perhaps it is not the external environment that stops us, but the brakes our own minds apply.

Growth is Life's Entertainment
While watching over my children, I also think, "Adults are also in the midst of growing".
When I hit a new personal best in weight training after a long break.
When I manage to organize something at work today that I couldn't yesterday.
There is a certain sense of fulfillment in such small steps.
A friend I respect once said:
"Life is just a way to kill time. So, let's enjoy it to the fullest".
Since our time is limited anyway, rather than spending it in boredom or dissatisfaction,
I want to surrender myself to the ultimate entertainment that is growth.
Growth is not a byproduct of effort, but rather something built into the very act of "living."
Just by realizing that, today becomes a little more exciting than yesterday, and tomorrow a little more than today.

The Rhythm of Challenges and Opportunities
Challenges constantly visit us in life.
Work, changing jobs, family, health.
Once you solve one, the next challenge appears. It is just like breathing.
But "opportunities" must also be arriving at the same rhythm as the challenges.
If you are fixated on the difficulties, opportunities will pass by quietly.
Challenges and opportunities always exist as a pair, and it is our choice which one we focus on.
That is why today, too, I want to choose growth as my entertainment.
To savor the challenges, to accept the opportunities,
and to live it all as "the ultimate entertainment".

🌱 When we notice our children growing, we are growing too.
On mornings when I can think that, the day strangely begins a little more gently.
