今はむかしの事、常陸国を栄えさせるために尽力した狐の四兄弟がいた。四兄弟は山、川、野原、海に散って各々の土地を神通力で守ると共に、長兄は火打ち石となる瑪瑙の取り方を人々に教え、次兄が稲作を教えた事で秋には風に揺れる稲穂が実り、三男は住居の基礎となる土木や採石の術を伝え、末弟は海で魚の取り方を伝えた。人々は感謝を込めて、瓜連の源太郎稲荷、米崎の甚二郎稲荷、那珂湊の四郎介稲荷、そして笠間の紋三郎稲荷(のちの笠間稲荷神社)を建立し、狐たちを祀った。
時は流れ21世紀。命を投げ出して火災から少年と子犬を救い、狐から魂と力の一部を託されて甦った青年源太郎はある日、狐面を付けた謎の女性が奏でる三味線の音色に導かれ、笠間稲荷神社へやってくる。そこには同じような境遇の三人の若者たちが集まっていた。
生活が豊かになるにつれ、人々の心は荒み、欲に支配されるようになっていった。人心の荒廃と自然破壊は土地の地場力を弱め、封印されていた最強最悪の邪神｢夜刀神ヤトノカミ｣が甦ろうとしていた。四人は狐たちから与えられた｢火｣｢風｣｢土｣｢水｣の力を使い、土を捏ね、風を吹かせて乾かし、火で焼き上げ、出来あがった巨大な笠間焼の人形を器として命の水を注ぐ事により、狐四兄弟を乗り移らせる。復活した守護神獣イナリスは、人々の暮らしと自然を守り荒んだ心を救うため、ヤトノカミとの決戦に向かうのであった。

Once upon a time, there were four fox brothers who worked hard to make Hitachi Province prosper. The four brothers are scattered in the mountains, rivers, fields, and the sea to protect each land with magical power, the eldest brother teaches people how to take agate that becomes a flint, and the second brother teaches rice cultivation, so it will be windy in the fall. The swaying rice ears grew, the third brother taught the civil engineering and stone-cutting techniques that form the basis of the dwelling, and the youngest brother taught how to catch fish in the sea. With gratitude, the people built Urizura's Gentaro Inari, Komezaki's Jinjiro Inari, Nakaminato's Shirosuke Inari, and Kasama Monsaburo Inari (later Kasama Inari Shrine) to worship the foxes.
Time has passed in the 21st century. One day, Gentaro, a young man who threw his life and saved the boy and puppy from the fire and was entrusted with a part of his soul and power from the fox, was led by the sound of the shamisen played by a mysterious woman with a fox mask, Kasama. Come to Inari Shrine. There were three young people with similar circumstances.
As life became richer, people's hearts became rough and greedy. The devastation of the human heart and the destruction of nature weakened the local power of the land, and the strongest and worst evil god "Yatonokami" that had been sealed was about to be revived. Using the power of "fire," "wind," "earth," and "water" given by the foxes, the four knead the soil, blow the wind to dry it, and bake it with fire. By pouring the water of life into a vessel, the four fox brothers are transferred. The resurrected guardian monster Inaris heads for a decisive battle with Yatonokami in order to protect people's lives and nature and save their rough hearts.
