魚介類が日本一豊富ともいわれる涸沼を有する茨城町。その茨城町に住む少女・志々見シエルは、父の酒癖の悪さに悩まされていた。ある日シエルは夕飯のおかずにするため涸沼にシジミを採りに行くが、小さいシジミしか採れなかったため帰してあげることにする。数ヶ月後、家族とともに涸沼に遊びに行くシエルであったが、仕事のストレスからか父・垣夫は酒に酔って母とシエルに辛く当たり始める。酒さえ飲まなければ優しい父と、幼い頃よく遊んだ涸沼。そんな思い出までもが傷つけられようとしている事に涙を流すシエル。その涙が涸沼の湖面にこぼれた時、突如涸沼から巨大なシジミを背負った怪獣が出現。人々が驚き逃げ惑う中、怪獣、いや貝獣があっけにとられる父に出汁の効いた体液をビームのように浴びせると、父はオルニチンの作用で酔いが覚め、いつもの優しい父に戻ったのであった。幼き日の思い出が守られたのは、帰してくれた事にシジミたちが恩を感じたのか、それとも単なる偶然なのか。涸沼の静かな湖面は黙して語らない。

Ibaraki Town is home to Lake Hinuma, which is said to be the richest seafood town in Japan. Shishimi Ciel, a girl living in Ibaraki Town, is troubled by her father's bad drinking habits. One day, Ciel goes to Lake Hinuma to pick clams for dinner, but she only finds small clams, so she decides to let him go home. A few months later, Ciel goes to Lake Hinuma with her family. However, perhaps due to work stress, her father Kakio gets drunk and starts to treat her mother and Ciel harshly. When Ciel doesn't drink, her father is kind, and she often plays in Lake Hinuma. Ciel sheds tears at the fact that even those memories are being hurt. As her tears spill onto the surface of Lake Hinuma, a monster carrying a giant clam appears from Lake Hinuma. While the people were running away in shock, the monster, or rather the shell monster, showered my father, who was stunned, with a beam of its broth-flavored bodily fluids, and my father, sobered up from the effects of the ornithine, returned to his usual gentle self. Was it because the clams felt grateful that they were allowed to return, or was it just a coincidence, that their childhood memories were preserved? The quiet surface of Lake Hinuma was silent.
