むかしむかし、東海村に｢紅三姉妹｣というそれはそれは美人な三姉妹が住んでいました。
ある時、三姉妹の住むお屋敷が大魔王アンノウンに襲われ、長女・紅 あかり、次女・紅 あずまが連れ去られてしまいました。｢おまえはイモっぽいからいらん｣と一人ハブられた三女・紅 はるかは、二人の姉を助け出すため、幼なじみで正義感の強い青年・玉 ゆたかを訪ねました。武運を授かろうと阿漕ヶ浦の大神宮に二人が手を合わせると、天照大神が現れ、｢この光が差す方にある畑の芋を一本ずつ抜きなさい。必ず力になってくれるでしょう｣と神託を授けました。二人は言われたとおり光の差す先にあった芋畑で一本ずつ芋を抜くと、姉たちを助ける旅に出ました。姉たちが囚われている大魔王の元へ向かうには、｢東海十二景｣と呼ばれる東海村の十二の名所で、大魔王の十二人の配下と戦わなければなりません。火の妖術師、渇きの妖術師、氷の妖術師、岩の妖術師など様々な敵が次々に襲いかかりますが、はるかは天照大神の導きによって得た力で、火で焼かれれば焼き芋の怪獣イモータンに、ゆたかは乾燥させられれば干し芋の怪獣ホシーモンに変身し、凍らされればさらに甘みが増し、岩の下敷きにされれば石焼き芋になってさらにパワーアップし…と次々にピンチを切り抜けていきます。旅の途中いもづる式に出会った頼れる仲間たちとともに、果たしてはるかとゆたかは二人の姉を救い出せるのでしょうか？

Once upon a time, in Tokai Village, there lived three beautiful sisters known as the "Beni Three Sisters." One day, the mansion where they lived was attacked by the Great Demon King Unknown, and the eldest sister, Akari Beni, and the second sister, Azuma Beni, were taken away. The third sister, Haruka Beni, was left out, told "You look like a potato, we don't need you," so she visited her childhood friend, a young man with a strong sense of justice, Tama Yutaka, to rescue her two older sisters. Hoping to be blessed with good fortune, the two sisters prayed at the Grand Shrine of Akogigaura, Amaterasu Omikami appeared and where a divine oracle appeared and bestowed upon them the words, "Pull one potato each from the field in the direction of this light. He will surely help you." The two sisters followed the instructions and plucked one potato each from the potato field in the direction of the light, then set out on a journey to rescue their sisters.
