What should I do while taking a break from studying for certifications?
Hello. This is Hiromin.
Since the FP Level 2 exam is over for now,
I am taking a break from studying for certifications for a while.
Now that I'm actually resting, for some reason I feel a bit guilty...
“I didn't study today, is that okay?”
Since I've been studying almost every day,
it feels strange to do nothing.
Habits are a scary thing, aren't they...
That said, until my next path is decided,
I've decided to take a little break.
This time, I will introducewhat I do while taking a break from studying for certifications.I will share that with you.
1. My early rising habit won't go away
When I was studying for certifications,
I used to wake up early every morning to study.
Perhaps because that habit has become ingrained,
I still wake up early even though I'm taking a break from studying.
Even if I think, “I'll sleep a little longer today,”
I can't seem to fall back asleep.
So, what should I do with this free time...
Because of that, I've been spending more time looking at Note and
watching YouTube lately.
Even though I'm taking a break from studying, I still wake up faithfully in the morning.
Habits ingrained in the body don't disappear easily, do they.
2. Reading
Actually, I'm not good at reading.
Even so, for the first time in a long while,
I bought a paperback book.
I purchased a book by one of my favorite authors,
Hideo Okuda's "Commentator".
It is the latest work in the psychiatrist Dr. Irabu series,
which has been adapted into live-action several times.
Personally, I'm not convinced by the live-action adaptations...
Anyway, Dr. Irabu is wild and funny 🤣
Outrageous treatments? that make patients forget what they were worried about unfold.
It's a story that makes you think, "I guess there's that way of thinking too," and makes overthinking feel ridiculous.
It's a book I want you to read when you're feeling stuck.
Since I was using my brain for certification studies, reading like this that I can enjoy without thinking is also nice.
And, I wanted to read the old series too, so I looked for them on my bookshelf, but...
The books aren't there.
I remembered I sold them a few years ago...
I never thought I'd be betrayed by my past self here 😂
3. Traveling
Using my compensatory leave,
I decided to take a long break during Obon.
So, I went on a trip to Nachikatsuura in Wakayama, also to visit a grave.

Usually, I would bring my problem books on trips, but this time...
No problem books!
My luggage is so light~ 😂
“I have to study even while traveling”Freed from that feeling, I enjoyed a relaxing trip for the first time in a while.
Sometimes, it's nice to take a break without carrying anything.
And on the way back at KIX, I got a Myaku-Myaku plushie! (A bit late, I know 😂)

Lately, for some reason, I've been buying plushies seeking comfort.
Now, where should I display them...
These days, I have more plushies than study materials.
Summary
When I tried taking a break from certification studies, at first I felt a bit restless, wondering, "What should I do?"
But, waking up early to write on Note, reading books for the first time in a while, and relaxing on trips.
Using the time I used to spend studying for other things is refreshing in its own way.
There's no need to keep running forever.
Until my next path is decided, it's a charging period for a while.
For now, I think I'll enjoy the "time not studying" as well.
Next time
Next time,“My family is less interested in certification exams than I thought”I will tell you about that.
Taking a break from certification studies is nice sometimes, isn't it.
“I want to take a break too!”If you thought that,
please give me a like 😊
